6/26/16 Phish - Noblesville, IN 7/9-10/16 Merryland Music Fest - Columbia MD 7/23/16 Keller Williams - McMinnville, TN 8/25-28/16 LOCKN Festival - Arrington, VA
It used to be called Hookah in the Hills, after the regional jam band ekoostik hookah. I went last year and had a lot of fun. There literally is music 24/7 for the entirety of the fest. It's insanely laid back, bordering on a free-for-all, and the setting is about 15 minutes outside Athens in pretty much the middle of nowhere. It's a really nice venue, with camping around a smallish lake and a pond. At night a fog usually descends on everything, and you can go campfire to campfire - they sell wood cheap - meeting people, all the while still listening to the acts on stage because the venue isn't that spread out. I enjoy a lot of the acts on top the bill and some of the regional acts, like Rumpke, Spikedrivers and Jahman, so for me the price of the ticket is super worthwhile.
Anybody been in the past have any info to share about their experience, the venu ,etc.?
Very laid back fun festival. Like the other poster said, used to be called hookah in the hills. Don't remember why they changed the name. Think it's because last year ekoostik hookah either didn't play or didn't headline. I've been to hookahville several times and it's similar. Small fest but always a good time. Going or deciding?
I'm a maybe at this point. I live in Columbus so it is not too far away. It concerns me a little that I could get camped separately from my car, and I may only be able to do a weekend pass. My bonnaroo camping condo supplies are going to be a huge pain lugging around. It sounds great and I hope to make it especially since all good was cancelled and is leaving Ohio.
Can anyone tell me what the campsites are like? Do you have a grid site like bonnaroo or is it more like going to an actual campsite?

Most everyone camps right by their cars or at least in close proximity, so you shouldn't have to worry about lugging your camping gear too far, if at all. In the past, they have not marked the spaces. You take up the space you need, and those around you do the same. They have an extra large field, in the back, they haven't opened up in the past, so if this year's fest ends up being really large, they have the space to accommodate the attendees.

My friends and I are considering going to this for Friday-Sunday. Its only a 3 hour drive down for me. I'm a huge Papadosio fan and for 75 bucks that undercard is stacked. EOTO, Keller, Ott, Chris Berry w. Michael Kang, Jones for Revival, Moon Hooch. This is a steal of a fest in a laid back atmosphere.

Last spring was brutally cold - like low 30s cold at night - but it's Ohio in the spring, so it could end up being really nice all weekend versus cold and wet. The one saving grace, if it's cold, is the sell firewood cheap.

I don't know if people on here saw the Facebook post, but due to the brisk ticket sales they announced a venue move. It no longer will be held at Poston Lake, which was about 15 minutes outside Athens. It's now going to be held at a bigger venue, in the same place they hold #Fest every year just outside the city corp. limits.

So anyone from Ohio going to this? Apparently the main stage tent is large - and it supposedly will be heated. I have Thursday and Friday off, so I plan on going.

I didn't realize it was this weekend... I have thurs/fir off too, I may be interested in going. I'd be by myself tho. No way I'm going to find someone to go last minute. Where is the new venue? I can't picture it?

I'm so upset that I am probably not going to be able to make it to this. The forecast is definitely playing a part in this. Also I had a friend who seemed willing to go, he was messing around with a girl from OU who was interested in going, now they don't speak and he wants nothing to do with Athens, Ohio.
The thought of missing two nights of Dosio is killing me.

Just doooo it. I'm seriously debating going alone. Although, a quick glance at the weather really just gave me pause. It's not going to be too terribly cold, but it's supposed to rain. It's going to be awfully hard to have a fire in the rain.

The forecast I just looked at shows a good chance of rain on Friday, but highs around 61 and lows around 43, which isn't too bad for early-season camping in Ohio. I think a big selling point for me and my friends is the main-stage tent. If anyone is on the fence about going, check out the Hoopla Facebook page for pics of the tent. It's set up on the site right now and enormous, enclosed and heated. I am taking off early Thursday afternoon. If anyone on here decides to go let me know and maybe we can do a board meet up. I have a big group of friends going, including guys who are part of two of the booked acts, DJ Relish and Under the Sun.
The temperatures are definitely not looking too bad, but going alone in the rain to a small festival is making me very nervous.... But Dosio & EOTO are very enticing. I'm so on the fence it's not even funny..... Wish I would've remembered it was this weekend like last week or earlier because there is no convincing someone to come with just days out. Argh. So frustrating!
