With the news of Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes leaving the band after this year, we HAVE to get them on the farm! I don't care what slot they play, I wouldn't miss that show for anything.

that would be amazing. i saw them at all good in 2012 and they sounded amazing. however, i was having a.... moment.... and the stage was too bright too look at for most of their set so i'd love a chance to, you know, actually see them.....
Does anyone else think this could be the end for the Allman Bros? I doubt that I want to see them with new guitarists.
It very well could, the band existed prior to Warren and Derek, but they have been "absorbed" so to speak into what the band is, i'd have a hard time imagining the Allmans today without them. I question whether Greg and the others would even want to replace them at this point.
Seeing as how people don't view them as headliner tier, what about a split Sunday headliner, with another band, like My Morning Jacket playing before them, and the Allmans ending the fest.
There has been talk of Devon Allman joining the band. I guess it's a natural choice, but he's nowhere near as good as Warren or Derek. BTW, it's rumored Otiel is leaving as well.

I would be happy to see them Sunday evening. But if I had my choice then I would schedule them Saturday night maybe after the Headliner or right before on Which stage.

Yea, the article I read yesterday said that Oteil leaving was in the works/rumored before these announcements. I guess they all figured that now was the time.

Anyone have any history with the Beacon run of shows that they usually do? Any insight into if they are better early or late into the run. May try to get a couple tickets when on sale tomorrow but not sure when to try for. Which may not even matter.

I think it's a crap shoot. They get some pretty good special guests, but it's difficult to predict who and on what nights.

Yes, but not directly in that I attended. The easy answer is that you should definitely get tickets if you're already considering it. It will likely be a crap shoot anyway in terms of special guests but it will be fantastic regardless.
Also, I got a Facebook update from Oteil's page saying at the rumors are unfounded and he was not leaving the band. Though, I would agree that the recent official news is definitely a signal that the end is nigh.
Come to think of it, an Allman Bros. SuperJam could very well rival the Rock N Soul set from later year. Yes, yes! THAT would be mind-blowing.
