Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Nevermind, they played governors ball last year. They have a date in Nashville in March. Not sure if that affects anything. Maybe they'll stick around longer later in the summer?

I thought Cut/Copy were already confirmed to be in Europe during Roo?
I'll agree with you that the headliners are nothing special but there's a ton of great getss in there. Catz n Dogz is actually pretty good, they're friendly the guys over at Claude VonStroke's dirtybird label. I'd be more than happy to see Booka Shade, Art Department, Andy C, Catz n Dogz, J Phlip, Justin Martin, Lee Burridge, MK, Moon Boots, Soul Clap, etc. at Bonnaroo
Question: For those of you that have been before, how's the traffic coming in? I have friends wanting to arrive Thursday or maybe even Friday morning and wondering if I should give them a heads up how long of a wait it could be (or if it's relatively short and no big deal)

It's never been too bad for me. A little of a wait but nothing like Roo used to be.

If they get there late on Thurs/Friday, they'll drive right in. Thurs morning after 8ish it's about a couple hour wait. People will start showing up Wed night and they always end up having to let a few in around 1 or 2 to get them off the road. Then they reopen the gates anywhere from 4-6AM depending on how many are waiting.
They'd be coming from the DC area, so wouldn't get there early in the morning (especially on Thursday, I think). Thursday noon-ish earliest, I'm guessing, or more likely Friday morning or so. (Staying overnight on the way up, but if Thursday is tempting enough for them, they'll probably leave the area Wednesday evening to get there for the Thursday artists) We'll see. I'll still tell them to make sure to gas up before getting in line and whatnot, but I'm sure it'll be fine.
Heads up to those wanting to volunteer that apps will open tomorrow (Tues) or Wednesday.
Also, in general, I had another question. How do they fill up the campgrounds? is there a front to back sort of approach or still more spread out/unpredictable somewhat like Roo? I'm wondering when my friends should come in to try to get parked near Camp Reverb.
It's always a little random, but you can at least count on them filling the northern half before the southern half of the campgrounds. The northeast and southeast spots are the closest to the venue entrance.
The last couple years, when we got there super early, they were bringing people up the middle, and switching back and forth between left and right once we got to the northern half (if you can picture the top half being filled from the edges in) so it was random if you got the close spot or farther away.
The northern half will be filled for sure by noon on Thurs.
Once the northern half is full, they usually start filling the southern half from east to west (close to farther away).
Keep in mind this could change, but also, this campground is nothing compared to the size if Bonnaroos, so even the far spots are not that far.
There were more additions but those are the ones EF specifically mentioned, others include earphunk, kung fu, luke the knife, los rakas, nahko and medicine for the people, etc
*April bump* Anyone know anyone coming from/near the DC area? Either volunteering or GA. I'm trying to expand my 2 groups if possible (and join camps once GA people arrive)

Yo! DC area here, Falls Church. We did a group camp but definitely down to meet up, probably heading to the reddit meetup too so maybe that would be a good spot.

yeah. at this point my 2 GA friends comin up to meet us Thurs afternoon aren't wanting passengers. The other 2 GA guys in my group will already be up with us workers and wait it out at the gate Wed night. (I read the gates open around midnight even though it officially says 10am Thurs)
I'm working with WET with a bunch of folks mostly from the DC area. A few people I haven't met before and whatnot... all together comes to around 15 people I have a friend of a friend that's in 1 of the DMV Group campsites too. They found out another DMV group has a site too so they're adjacent. DMV REPRESENT! woo!
For most of us, this is our first time too! Exciting! I leave Tues morning!!
So what'd everyone think of Forest? This was my first year... I'm not really into EDM at all, but my friends convinced me to go, as it's only an hour away for us. I enjoyed it and had a lot of fun, but IMO it doesn't hold a candle to Roo.

I kinda went into it knowing I'd prefer Roo over it for several reasons: - Roo is around an hour closer (and they're both far from the DC area as it is) - Roo also has a more straightforward route to TN - No tolls needed to go south to Roo but EF was around $25ish one-way! eww! - I feel the same about EDM. I like Roo's variety better. - I like Roo's size better. More vendors and whatnot - Inforoo Brunch and friends at Roo - Roo seems to have a better, more organized volunteer program - I HATED the stupid fireworks at every hour of the day and night in the campgrounds. Wanted to slap whoever was doing that. - I didn't like how there wasn't a circular sort of layout or something. Sherwood Court felt really far back from the venue entrance
BUT: - I loved the cool breezes since we were so close to Lake Michigan - I love the art in the forest and all the hammock space/shade - I liked that as a volunteer I got to camp in the woods near the venue entrance
I have a feeling I may go back eventually. I know I have at least 1 friend in my group that prefers it to Roo and another 1 or 2 that teach during Roo so EF is more convenient with work. I personally really want to go back to Bonnaroo in 2015 though. Maybe every few years replace it with EF or something. *shrug*

I had a good time but it was too crowded for how small of a venue forest was, loved Sherwood court one of my favorite venues I've been to, and sts9 blew my mind into pieces so freAking amazing
