They tell us "Rock'n'roll is the devil's music." Well, let's say we know that rock is the devil's music, and we know that it is, for sure … At least he fuckin' jams! If it's a choice between eternal Hell and good tunes, and eternal Heaven and New Kids on the fuckin' Block … I'm gonna be surfin' on the lake of fire, rockin' out.
sts9 at war memorial friday! anyone been to the venue?
Several times, and it is awful. Bad sound bad vending etc... are you on the floor at least?
Yeah I've been twice. On the floor for Here Come The Mummies which was a lot of fun. In the balcony for Marulyn Manson, and the sound was absolute shit. And the vendors are bad all over the place. Slowest beer lines ever.

I've always supported Foo being a headliner, but after last night at the Ryman I can't imagine it topping that show. Amazing full 3+ hrs of nonstop music. So good. The set list is on COS.

I can't decide what I think of that venue Abra. I kind of want to catch Bobby Bare Jr. there this friday. And have been meaning to catch Langhorne Slim for a bit too. Just not too sure from the website if that place is my 'scene' so to speak. Seems like it might be a but stuffy. I'm curious if anybody here has been to a show there yet, and their impression.

It is stuffy and expensive, but it has great sound and it is the most intimate venue you are likely to find for the class of people that play there.

I've had the same issue and have skipped a few shows I wanted to see there just because I don't think me with my t-shirt and dirty jeans would fit in.

Well hopefully they let our kind in. Does this mean I'm suppose to dress up? :/ I'm all about some wine and the vip tickets were like 22 bucks. Not too shabby.

Anyone coming out for Mastodon tonight?
That's one of the things I noticed Jess. I looked at the show menu and it definitely isn't cheap. The ticket price looks good but its an $18 dollar burger i think? And goes up from there. And a look at the Sommelier menu was an eye opener. Of course they do have Yazoo Pale Ale for $6 apiece. To be honest the menu more than anything gave me the impression it might be a bit 'proper'. What did you think of the reserved table/chair seating? Did you share a table with others or have your own? It's good to hear there is great sound though.
dreamingtree We bought the VIP cause they were just a few bucks more but I was wondering why those seats are the VIP? I'd really like to be in the spot with the best acoustics. Would your honey have any insight on this?

I asked him about why they are VIP and he did not know. I will ask about the best spot for sound and he will know for sure, because he was the person who had to tune the room and it was a bitch due to the shape of the room and the way it's built.
Ok I asked him and he said in the middle to back of room in line with either the right or left speaker stack. He said the tables with seats 320, 310 and 270 sound great. The tables in front of them are good also, but they are sold. Do NOT sit at 290 or 295 tables

Thank you! Would any of y'all be down for getting drinks that weekend or maybe a preshow dinner somewhere not as expensive? I'd like a chance to hangout with y'all Nashville folks!

Maybe dinner/drinks before the show? I'm not sure whats in that area, but my hubby will know. We have another show that weekend, so probably will not go out again.

Hi strangers... I'm trying to get my ass back to this site more often. Stupid life getting in the way. With that said, if any of you are looking for some music, you're welcome to come to my house this Saturday. We're having a pot-luck house concert.
