In case you guys didn't hear, I come baring bad news. David Murphy aka Murph of STS9 has left the band. I assume they will find his replacement before Waka so there's still hope in seeing Tribe at the farm.
In life, the only constant is change. We try to embrace this in our music and in our lives and its in this spirit that we announce STS9 and bassist David Murphy are parting ways. We are postponing our upcoming winter tour dates through February. We'll miss David and wish him the best on his journey ahead.
To our fans, we can’t thank you enough for your understanding and continuous support. We are thrilled for the future of STS9 and can’t wait to share it with you.
Right! I had just bought tickets for the Knoxville show yesterday.
I feel ya. I have/had two tickets to the Knoxville show as well and more than likely a photo pass. Hopefully they have their situation sorted out before the McDowell Music Fest in Arizona.
Also had a ticket for Providence, just got it on Sunday. Shit.
I had tickets to their show also in NYC back in Nov. 2012, the weekend after Sandy blew through the area. I stayed home, made no sense taking a weekend trip down there then.

This news is CRAZY! When I first heard I thought it must be a related health issue with Murph but I've heard his health is actually really good since hes been in remission. I may be reading into the initial released statement, but it does not seem like this separation was amicable and it almost seems like he was pushed out or given some sort of ultimatum(due the the fact that his name is not on the bottom of the statement). He has been taking on a lot of side projects lately, maybe that was causing some friction with the guys. Anyways...this is a SAD SAD day for all Tribe fans and the only thing playing in my office today will be STS9
They got announced on the Counterpoint festival so good to know this won't be effecting many tour dates and by no means is the end of the band... But still it'll never be the same.

It doesn't necessarily mean they wont cancel festival dates. I think a lot is up in the air right now. I certainly don't hope for festival cancellations though!!
Was definitely sad to read this news today. Been a fan of STS9 for a while, and am still hoping they show up on the farm this year. Will be interesting to see how they do without Murph. Curious as to the reason for the departure.
"It is with a very sad and heavy heart that I announce I am parting ways with STS9. While we have had an amazing experience together, our paths are taking us in different directions creatively and personally. My deepest apologies go out to all of our fans who have supported us through thick and thin. I will never be able to fully express my gratitude for everything y'all have given me. I wish STS9 the best and hope to see y'all down the road...I LOVE Y'all"
I guess there were rumors that he was going to be joining Cherub. They also released a statement saying that was not true, and that they look forward to collaborating with Murphy and the remaining members of STS9 in the future.

Great to hear he isn't joining Cherub. That would of been a slap in the face.
