Thanks to all you dedicated, beautiful, fun-loving souls here, I've learned a wealth of info, and almost feel prepared to celebrate 10 years of Inforoo love, at my first-ever Bonnaroo, and to hopefully meet some of you too!
i'm so damn excited and nearly gave up my dream weeks ago when it didn't look possible for me to come to the 13th installment of the big party. Grateful I'm not giving up!
Today I nearly cried when my wristband & other goodies arrived. Thanks to a few specific people for your indirect encouragement, shared positive vibes and a lot of good energy!
"I love music. For me, music is morning coffee. It's mood medicine. It's pure magic. A good song is just like a good meal. I just want to inhale it and then share a bite with someone else." - Hota Kotb
Love this place. Found inforoo late in 06 while researching the 2007 lineup.
For a few years I was here everyday, completely addicted to the Bonnaroo state of mind. Inforoo was perfect for me bc my friends got tired of speculating on who will be at Bonnaroo the next year with me. Here, the optimism is in full force 365 days a year.
I'll be sticking around because, I think, if there was ever a year to be excited about the possibilities for next year, it's now. I'm being very optimistic about what LNs financial backing can bring!
Love this thread! [whoa, wtf is this guy doing, coming out of the woodwork like this?!?!] Thanks to iSkew for a touching memoir, to the mods for keeping this place going, and to all of the rest of you for making this place what it is.
In the six years since, I have made more friends that I can count and been to more shows and festivals than is reasonable. I also landed my current job because of an Inforooster. And Inforoo allowed me introduce one of my real-life friends to her now-husband. I truly consider you all my family. Like any family, we're not always going to get along with each other. But in the end, we've all stuck around for one reason: this board has allowed us to be part of something bigger than ourselves.
So thank you Inforoo for existing, and thank you Mods, for showing the dedication to keep this board going. I honestly do not know where I would be without Inforoo <3
I think a thread of this nature should have some negative things in it as well. It hasn't always been 100% peaches and roses around here, even back then. You're right.
Seriously, I wasn't trying to go there, I felt like if your going to reminiscence about things, be honest about all aspects.
You're right, we have had issues like that forever!
I actually lived right across the street from Joel (Teine, Nature Boy) for like 3 years and had never met him. We ended up finding out how close we lived thorough this site and have been friends every since.
I have met some of by best friends here on Inforoo. I have traveled all over the country with people here on Inforoo. I have camped in the same tent with people here on Inforoo. I have laughed with people here on Inforoo and I have cried with people here on Inforoo. I have dragged drunkasfuck people across empty concert fields with people here on Inforoo and people here on Inforoo have dragged my drunkasfuck ass across empty concert fields.

This message board has made me happy, sad, mad, elated, upset, confused...I have laughed, cried, bitched, fussed, watched in amazement, and watched in disbelief. I have read the funniest, most touching, most helpful, meanest, most vile, least helpful, by people right here on Inforoo.
I know I am not around Inforoo nearly as much as I once was and am not as active as I used to be. If I am being honest, it really is, largely, because of the abuse I see some of the members giving others. I just don't have the stomach for it anymore I guess. I just can't help but get upset when I see one member tell another to "go kill yourself" over what kind of music they like or because they disagree with what someone posted, or how it was posted. It was never like that back in the day. It is a sad reflection of where we are as a society, the behavior of some of our members, but alas, as they say in sports, it is what it is. We all know exactly the ones I am talking about.
But through it all, Inforoo endures. It is that ever present entity that is always there for you, no matter what time it is or what day it is.
I had a bunch of newbie questions, and quickly discovered how terrible the (now defunct) official forums were. So I took to the ol' Google, thinking there *had* to be something better out there; what I found was so far beyond anything I could have anticipated.
...
In fact, I think it's improved significantly since Adam stepped down.
