Because every 5th word out of Andrew WKs mouth is "party". Have you ever looked at the titles of any of his tracks?

Yes, I understand that. But if that we're the case why wouldn't they have just put a party hat against a solid background like every other clue? This one having a completely different look makes me think the background is significant. (I'm also aware this point has already been made before)
Was the radio clue just wk being a big fan of partying?

Where are you seeing they're on hiatus?? I just went to their website and it says they're releasing a single on February 25th and are headlining their largest ever UK show to date around the same time......

Edit: disregard the feb 25th date thing... I was looking at the wrong year, forgot it's 2014 now. But I'm still not seeing where they're on hiatus.
Maybe The Tea Party? Coming out with an album in early 2014 after reuniting recently. Played a few shows in Canada last summer. Doesn't really make too much sense though with the whole pointed birthday hat theme, red white and blue stars, and tile counter top/floor. However, it's a stretch.

First thing that pops up when you google "bloc party hiatus"
The funny thing about hiatus' is that there is no end date. It can literally end at any time and we'll never know. Bonnaroo would be almost 11 months after their hiatus started so I think there'd a legit shot at getting them, plus Bloc Party makes the most sense for the clue.

I saw they were working on new stuff and decided to throw my two cents in .
This clue is tricky but I would say my real guess would be Kele Okereke from Bloc Party. I think the single party hat indicates Kele's solo tour which is already under way after an EP he released in December.
It's Bloc Party. Why? Google synonym for party and bloc comes up with one of the synonyms. That, and the floor is a bunch of tile blocks.
I'm almost pissed at everyone for making this way more complicated than it needs to be, stop doing weird shit and use simple logic. Thank you for posting something that makes sense, and I completely agree with you. It's BLOC PARTY.

That's actually a good thought, considering they got Weird Al to host it last year. With the carny/fun-vibes vibe, none of that would surprise me much at all. Especially when you consider that Roo probably wants to market itself as the biggest fest (party) in the nation.
EDIT: OP on "solved clues" says Bloc Party. Did I miss something? Also, from a June 2013 article, quoting th3 guitarist Russell Lissack:
“Definitely after we finish the festivals in the summer we’ll be taking some time off. At least six months, maybe a year maybe two years, it’s hard to say,” Lissack told Postmedia News at Saturday’s Field Trip music festival in Toronto. “Once we start taking time off people start doing their own thing. I've changed my mind. I think it's andrew wk. (although bloc party still works, but I've accepted the evidence that they're on hiatus and are more than unlikely). Party (hat) Hard (hard floor). And he's on hangouts line up. I'm kinda disappointed by this one. I'd much rather it have been bloc party.
