Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I really hope this happens because I've never seen them live. Why do most people on inforoo seem indifferent towards them? Did anyone catch their 2011 performance? I know most people complain about Julian acting disinterested on stage, but I don't really see a problem with it

My first Bonnaroo was in 2011 because I mainly wanted to go to see The Strokes. As a fan, I thought their performance was amazing. I've seen them a few times and their performance at Bonnaroo was absolutely one of, if not, my favorites of the times I've seen them. Granted, after waiting all day to be in the pit, I would've liked to have them at least play their entire set time instead of coming onstage late and leaving early, but it's The Strokes, so a short set with a late start was kind of expected... And honestly, I thought Julian was really great and charismatic (for him) at Bonnaroo... It's one of the only shows of theirs that I've been to where all five of them seemed to genuinely be interested in being on stage and playing together. I would absolutely be all for a Julian solo show and/or Strokes back on the farm this year, no questions asked.

Strokes are fun live but the stage they played on in 2011 had the worst speakers. The sun was setting right behind the stage and widespread was going on right after at another stage so that kind of fucked up the crowd but it wasn't a good show by any means. Strokes are dead.
For me, seeing a band live for the first time is a real make or break moment. The Strokes were by far the band I was most excited to see at Rap-aroo 2011. I left with a few songs left in the set and drove home disappointed....
In all fairness that stage is horrible, the only show I've ever really enjoyed there was NIN and that was only because I skipped Bruce to get really close to the stage

I really liked their 2011 performance. IMO, if you didn't like it, you don't really get the Strokes.
They came on like 30 minutes late because they were watching another band.
They essentially played a greatest hits set that lasted about an hour.
And as far as "disinterested," that's just who Julian is. The Strokes are all about being bad ass, cool, and minimalistic.
It was bad ass that they were watching another band instead of showing up on time for their own show. It just was.
Their short set was cool because they didn't waste time. It was a no bull shit set.
And their stage presence was minimalistic. That's who they are.
The set embodied them. And I would love to see them back on the farm.

I am pretty indifferent to The Strokes, I did want to compliment you on your Hyperbole and a Half avatar though.

It was a good set that had a very boring crowd, even up front. I mean, to be fair it was on Sunday so everyone was probably tired as shit but it was still pretty lame. Definitely not as good as Lollapalooza the year prior. They were totally on it for that show and the crowd was, suitably, going crazy.

Man, that just reminds me of how shitty that conflict was. Wasn't is The Strokes vs. Robert Plant vs. Beirut vs. Explosions in the Sky vs. Superjam all at the same time? So lame.
Yeah I was actually kinda pissed when he said they were watching Beirut and that's why they were late.
Haha same... especially after I wasted my entire day sitting in line to be front row in the pit for their show, just to have them show up late/leave early (even though I expected it. I just didn't expect it to be because Julian was busy on the side stage for Beirut)
