Hey folks, My boyfriend and I are heading down from Toronto, and at this point have not yet firmed up our means of transport. Any people also headed South for 'roo from the T.? We leaning towards renting a car and driving, but it would be great if we could carpool with another friendly Canadian!
hey, last year my gf and i rented a car from avis because it was only about $260 canadian with unlimited kms. We left from Sarnia Ontario and we will be doing the same this year. I suggest you get a car from there, its well woth it. Id help with the car pool but i got a full car!! good luck and ill see you at the roo!!
we left sarnia @ about 1 am then we got held up at customs till 3! after that it was a smooth ride all the way there, we used mapquest and took a few rest stops in kentucky to get food, beer and groceries!! we took our time and got to bonnaroo around 2 or so, it took a good 11 hours but we stopped for quite a while, as soon as we got there we had a 45 minute wait to off the highway and another 20 to get in bonnaroo itself!! our car didnt get checked (they just asked us if we had drugs...) we said no, they said go in and get some!! we laughed!!!! our camp was right near the front which was awesome too!! but i think thats just the luck of the draw!!

is it worth the hastle?
my buddies and i are close to hamilton ontario. we are taking an airport shuttle to the detroit airport from which we will fly to Nashville TN. i think the round trip including the bus fare will cost about 320 bucks canadian. plus this way we won't have to worry about traffic or extremely long car rides for that matter.

You say you're from Sarnia? I live in Port Huron. I'm still working on getting down there, but it's looking like Greyhound for my friend Natalie and me. My mom works at US Customs on the Blue Water Bridge, and I can give you pointers on crossing if you need help!!!!

Hey! We are also a couple going down to roo looking for someone to share the ride with. We have a car but it'd be cheaper if we split gas expenses. We are from peterborough (1:45 from toronto). Let us know if you are still interested.
OMG Bunkminer, WHY DID Customs hold you up at the border for 2 hours? Ok that just freaks me out to no end! Sarnia is the crossing we are using and we are on a tight time line for this trip.
KingofCheezWhiz, please let us know about this border crossing info! This is really starting to FREAK ME OUT!
Dern! I tell ys, us Canadian women and men are fun lovin peacekeepers and we can't even visit our Friends in United States now without having our vehicle ripped apart and interrogated like we are common criminals!
