Life is Beautiful festival is coming back to Vegas after a pretty successful first year. They expanded from 2 days to 3 days so I'm pretty excited about that. I attended the first year and had a blast. Everything seemed to run pretty smoothly IMO. Dates are October 24-26.
im actually looking into attending this or voodoo in the fall. never bene to Vegas so LIB has the lead but the lineups will play a role too. can you give me any general info about where to stay, the vibe, prices inside, the festival site etc?

Festival site is Downtown Las Vegas, pretty much right next to Fremont St. which is considered "old vegas". You can stay at any of the hotels downtown and be within walking distance of the festival grounds . (ie. The golden nugget, The D, El Cortez, ect.) Also if you wanted to stay on the strip, a cab ride to the festival grounds really wouldn't cost you that much as cabs are pretty reasonable when it comes to price.
The actual festival site has 4 or 5 stages. Plus there is places to hear speakers, there is a culinary area where they have famous chefs cook and whatnot. Lots of art installments all over the grounds as well. The Stages are all within good distance of each other so getting from stage to stage to see shows is easy. I also didn't notice any sound bleed from stage to stage.
Price inside is average for a festival. Free water stations so that's cool. I had a decent sized bowl of pasta from one of the restaurants that set up a booth there and it was around 7 dollars. I can't really remember the price for alcohol but it wasn't outrageous.
As for the vibe of the fest, to me it just seemed like everyone was there to have good time. I made lots of friends with the people around at each show and I didn't have one bad experience with anyone nor did I see any problems occur. It was a real laidback, chill 2 days. I excited that they are expanding to 3 days this year. I was nervous going as it was my first non-camping festival but I had a blast and as long as I live in Vegas this will be one of my festivals that I go to every year.
thanks for all that i appreicate it and it does sound good. how much was it to attend last year? im sure it will be more now with the added day anyway.
thats not bad at all. sounds pretty similar to made in america here in philly except our site is brutal and not big enough for the 45k or so they let in. any lineup rumors or expected announcement date yet?
They announced the lineup begining of June last year, so I'd guess around the sametime this maybe earlier this with the expansion to 3-days. I haven't heard any rumors yet, I feel with the festival being so later in the year its hard to tell.
But I think with Outkast doing the whole 40 festival thing we can start with them as a rumor haha
