This year will be my second year at the farm and I'm trying to make sure I do everything right this time. Last year my biggest problem was walking to and from centeroo since our camp was all the way in BFE. Normally I wouldn't complain about such things but I have back problems (herniated discs) and was in immense pain for the majority of the festival. I tried to kill the pain with beer but we all know thats not the best idea in the heat. I was told before I went last year to camp in tents only but when we arrived it seemed like that wasn't an option, so we just went where we were told to go. (We got in Wednesday night around 11pm if that matters)
SO! What do I do when I arrive? Just pull up and say "tents only please"? I'm confused.
also i will be doing visiting a chiropractor and doing everything i can to be in tip top shape this year
You either park where you're directed to park, grab your gear, and huff it down to tents only, or pick up a parking pass, grab your gear, and huff it to tents only, or if your flying in like me, take the airport shuttle , get off the shuttle, and huff your gear to tents only
I think if your back is a big issue, you'd be better off going to your doctor and seeing about getting a parking tag, and camping in access.
This, absolutely.
This is information from 2013, but it sounds like you would be better off going this route. Especially since camping in Tent Only requires you to haul your gear there and back, a potentially very long way.

i'd have to work on getting a temporary government issued placard which shouldn't be too difficult but i'm wondering what the area is like where i'd be camping? i'm coming with 3 more people and i know they all can't camp here. maybe i can have a spot here and my friends can get a spot in tents only? i'm guessing the two have to be close. thanks so much for your help!

That would be my recommendation. For the past couple of years I arrive on Wed. and haul all my shit to Tent Only. My friends set up camp where ever they get parked and meet up with me in TO. We use my location as a sort of base camp in and out of Centeroo. Hauling all your stuff to TO would be murder on your back but if you had some friends setup up a base camp there I think you'd be golden.
EDIT: Access camping is very reasonably close to TO.

I know the people camping in Access last year could bring another car with them that were parked very close to the regulat Access area. That could work for you as well. I would email the access people b/c they may not need a handicap placard if you can get a doctor's note.

I was gonna tag you to comment on this...but then I bet my laziness would win and you would see this sooner or later. I win!
I have done tent only once. I only had two nights I could spend at roo so I decided this was the best method. Met some cool people who had flown in, but I do not live that far away so I backpacked all my gear in from day parking worked great for me and my girl. A wagon would help you move your gear to tent only (if u do not get access pass) and is easier on the back.
