So I was messing around looking at other festivals this summer and I'm seeing that Zac Brown Band on a couple lists. What do you think the chances are that they'll be there? Also we normally get a classic country act at Roo.

Who do you think/want as the classic country act and what do you think the chances that ZBB will be there?
I don't think it's going to be Zac Brown this year, if anything the big country name will be Eric Church. I really don't have a good guess for classic act. For under card country Roo usually goes for guys that are kinda of unique and and up and coming girls. I've always thought Colt Ford would fit the roo country mold well, maybe Tyler Farr and if I had to guess on a girl this year it would probably be Jana Kramer.

Eric Church?..Meh not my kind of country, I would have preferred Billy Currington for a "new" country act. I'm gonna hope for the classic act to be either Alan Jackson or Garth Brooks.
With CMA fest and all, I don't even know if Eric Church would be a get for 'Roo. Like Hakuna said, I could see somebody like Colt Ford, or even Brantley Gilbert fitting the profile for the country slot fill, or maybe they could do something a little more alt country older act like Robert Earle Keen. I don't follow much mainstream country, but would be highly interested in a Cory Morrow, Adam Carroll, or Reckless Kelly etc. set.

Brantley was actually right on my radar too. I just checked and he is doing a small tour with Thomas Rhett(who I could also see) and the dates actually work pretty well.

As soon as I said that I went looking as well. It really would work quite nicely. I've been following him for a while, and would enjoy seeing him there.

I can say with 100% certainty in won't be Zac Brown (unless he lied...)
I would like it if Kacey Musgraves played, I think her album is good.
She was there last year. I could see then moving her up to a bigger stage though.
She played which, probably gonna be a couple more years before she is back and potentially on what. Although my guess is her window of playing roo again is closed.

For some reason I thought she was in a tent. My B.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
With a new album just coming out (which is excellent), I think Rosanne Cash may be our country act this year. I read recently that Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Kris Kristofferson were working on an album together and I'd love to see that but Willie's touring with Emmylou Harris this Summer so the Willie/Merle/Kris superjam will probably be next year if it happens.

She opened Which, so that isn't really any different than being a tent act. If they brought her back, she could still play Which at a better time and that would be "moving up" I would think.
Also, she was a late add last year (i.e. not part of the initial lineup announcement). Not sure if that has any role on her likelihood of coming back or not, but it feels worth mentioning.
