Bonnaroo is how I discovered this act. If we believe the info from the confirmations thread they'll be on the farm this year. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon tent.
This is the side-band from a member of MMW and it's him and his brother playing some folky/acoustic tunes. Great stuff. I love their albums.

I would be down for this. Missed them when they rolled through here last year.

The Wood Brothers just followed me on Twitter. I'm not sure why because I don't use that account very often. Hoping it's because I retweeted something to enter a contest for their show in NYC this week. Would be pretty awesome.

You totally missed an opportunity for a sweet groaner of a pun. I'll let you find it.

Can't wait. They were (if I recall correctly) my very first Bonnaroo show. This is when their first album as a duo came out and I think Chris Wood was there primarily for Medeski, Martin, and Wood. Anyway, it really won over my friends and I so much that I went to a show of theirs in this tiny venue shortly after Bonnaroo. Love their work and I'm hoping to get a record or two signed when I go. Not sure how much of a chance to meet and talk to them i'll have but they're down to earth guys so it shouldn't be too hard.

Awesome shows last night. The band has really figured out their stage show and improved from the last times I've seen them. It's always been a great show but used to be more just about two guys playing music. Now they have lights and some more electric versions of things and the multi-instrumentalist/drummer who joined them adds a lot.
Oliver Wood looks to have dropped some weight and is totally changed from when I first started seeing him. Was surprised to see him look different but the guitar playing and voice were all still there so I'm still happy. They stretched some songs out and did some really cool stuff with them. I think this will be a great show for Bonnaroo.
Not my video but this song was a highlight at the show:
Anyone who likes stand-up bass solos or bands that can jam out without noodling for 18 minutes should definitely check these guys out.
In addition to their regular set The Wood Brothers will be playing the Sonic Stage on Friday from 5:00-5:45. Don't miss out...they're awesome live.
We are not really familiar with them yet, but my friend and I have decided to be at this show because of what we've heard so far Any suggestions as to what to listen to first?

Ways Not to Lose - first album and has some of their best songs. Really good stuff and a great intro to their band.
and
The Muse - their newest album that was released. More of a full sound with supporting musicians and also gives you a taste of what songs they'll be playing on tour.
If you like those two then you can't go wrong with their other releases. Looks like they have all their work on Spotify.

Thank you I knew you would steer me right! I have all their stuff on there, but it's overwhelming, so this is a good start.

The Muse is really good and meant to be listened to in the order it was made in (instead of just hitting shuffle). The various interludes really add to the listening experience when you're listening all the way through.

Listening to it now and I think I prefer it to the first one so far. I usually tend to listen in the order it comes when I don't have my whole list on shuffle.

Yea, The Muse is more of a full band sound with other instruments and more confidence. When they released Ways Not To Lose it was like a glorified side-project for Chris Wood. Ways not to lose is a little more stripped down and acoustic/folky while the Muse has them plugging in and really putting everything together well.
Glad to see some other folks loving these guys as much as I do. They're not just talented; they're also some of the nicest guys in the industry. I've met them twice, and they ALWAYS hang out for post-show meet & greets. Heck, when I flew to Maine to see them a few years back, they saw my RSVP on FB & gave me a free autographed CD and shirt, just because I'd flown a thousand miles to see 'em. And you're totally right on Ways Not to Lose: some of their best songs (Atlas, Chocolate on My Tongue, One More Day) are always played, unlike some bands who only focus on their newest material when they tour w/a new album.
Also: Chris does things w/that bass that put impure thoughts in the head of many a lady. Meeeeeeowwwww. ;-)
