That is pretty awesome. What are yall expecting setwise? Probably pretty similar to their 2013 shows? I didn't realize that their Roo show kicks off their summer tour so maybe will get some special treats...

Hopefully a little less heavy on Push the Sky Away (though that album is great) and more focused on his extensive discography. I'd love to hear him dig out some of the deeper cuts from his late 80's/early 90's albums. Honestly though, his catalog is so damn consistent that I'm sure I'll be thrilled with whatever he ends up playing.

I have to assume it will be. He played a lot of PSA last year, you'd think a follow-up tour would have more variety.
I dunno guys, I heard Nick has zero stage presence.
I'm actually kinda ashamed that I started this thread. If I were you guys, I'd skip Cave for the Skrillex Superjam. I've heard that he's a real performer.

I mean....have you seen his space ship?
No. I'm afraid to fly. Even with Nick as a pilot, I'll have to decline. I bet it's bad assery though. Like a '76 Camaro with wings.
So I'm really into Push the Sky Away but I struggle with the discography. There is a lot to go over when I have to research so many other bands.
Someone want to point me to albums or songs to listen to that are older that might be played at Roo?
He'll do quite a few feartured on 'the best of' which I think came out in 1997. Deanna, Red Right Hand, Stagger Lee, probabably a few others, so that is a decent thing to stick to. Beyond that, looking at no more than 1 or 2 from any album. I expect the set to still be pretty heavy with PTSA stuff.
We No Who U R (Push the Sky Away) Jubilee Street (Jubilee Street) Red Right Hand (Let Love In) Into My Arms (The Boatman's Call) Push the Sky Away (Push the Sky Away) The Mercy Seat (Tender Prey) The Weeping Song (The Good Son) Higgs Boson Blues (Push the Sky Away) Stagger Lee (Murder Ballads) Mermaids (Push the Sky Away) Tupelo (The Firstborn is Dead) Love Letter (No More Shall We Part) Deanna (Tender Prey) We Real Cool (Push the Sky Away) Papa Won't Leave You Henry (Henry's Dream) Jack the Ripper (Henry's Dream) From Her to Eternity (From Her to Eternity)
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

I'm skipping 'roo but road tripping to Louisville the following Monday to see my 7th Bad Seeds show, 4th row seats. Their set lists don't change all that much from year to year except that they focus on the new album. Kind of a shame with such an amazing back catalog. He did drop a crazy 'Wanted Man' third encore on us in Montreal in 2008, after half the crowd had left thinking the show had ended.
wow -- great tune! i still don't think i can miss the Shrilly show b/c of how unique it will be, but if it's just too crowed to where even hearing the set is impossible I'm definitely heading to the Cave tent.....

'tis my plan as well. either way will be a dope ass bonnaroo evening.
My gf and I somehow ended up on the rail right in front of the platform Nick used to come near the crowd and my god was it an unbelievable experience. It was easily the best show I saw at Bonnaroo this year by a large margin.
From Her To Eternity and The Weeping Song were probably the biggest highlights for me, though I had no complaints about the setlist at all. I also ended up getting a setlist which mentioned that Deanna and Love Letter (among half a dozen others) were possibilities for the encore and I would've loved to hear those as well.
If there is a band playing in Hell's nightclub, this is it, with Satan sitting in his semi-circle red velvet corner table. It was an amazing, mesmerizing performance.

They're not playing in hell.
Satan is too scared.
Well, I did forget, he got 4 holes in his Mother. Quacking. Head!
Had no idea what to expect from this set, but it BLEW MY MIND. My girlfriend was too tired fer Saturday LNs so I wondered around from Frank Ocean to the Skrillex SJ, neither of which grabbed me. I could see the Lips over on Which, but havin' seen them three times now I thought I'd mosey on over and check out this Nick Cave dude. I was highly rewarded fer my choice! Probably a top three set fer the weekend!

Favorite quote of the set: "There's not many people here… Fuck all the rest of them motherfuckers, we've got the cream of the crop!… I guess we'll have to finish this up quick so we can all go see skrillex or whatever…" Probably not exact but it was something close to that, I laughed so hard.
