Favorite quote of the set: "There's not many people here… Fuck all the rest of them motherfuckers, we've got the cream of the crop!… I guess we'll have to finish this up quick so we can all go see skrillex or whatever…" Probably not exact but it was something close to that, I laughed so hard.
I've been quoting that to so many people since the show.
This set was easily my #2 of the weekend behind being in the pit for Kanye. I feel like it was the best show that no one saw, unfortunately.

I'm a big NC&BS fan, but his performance was one of my favorites of the festival. Great setlist and super small crowd; it was like seeing Nick Cave in a small, private club. Scheduling win.
I wandered around during the first late night shows trying to find where I was supposed to be. I really wanted to be at Frank Ocean, but it just wasn't grooving with my mood. Walked over to the Superjam and it sounded great, but I couldn't get in the tent. I told my buddy, "Let's walk over to Nick Cave." I'd never heard more than a few songs by them. So glad we went. It was exactly where I wanted to be. Nick Cave and Darkside back-to-back was the best thing that happened to me at Bonnaroo this year.
This may go down as my favorite show ever. On top of just how purely amazing the set itself was, I was in the front row, right on the middle on the platform that extended to the rail. Nick spoke with me, serenaded me individually, I almost dropped him at one point while he was standing on me. Going in I thought seeing him on the rail would be a truly intimate performance which is why I skipped Jack White to ensure it, but I had no idea it would be on that level. Truly a show I can't say enough good things about and one I'll really never forget.

Oh my gosh, how I envy you
I was second row, probably ten feet to the right of the platform. He made extended eye contact at one point and it was pretty much the most incredible thing of my life aha. It was my second time seeing him and I'm getting closer every time.
Next time, I need to be serenaded and I need that genius's beautifully ringed hand to grasp mine. Hmm
All in all, yah definitely the highlight of my weekend for sure!
He definitely deserved a much larger crowd but... it benefited me. And I really don't think he cared all that much. He looks to interact with those first few rows and we were a kick ass group
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.

Of course I go look up tour dates and the only two dates he's playing in NY are the same days as the Newport Folk Festival i'll be at. Damn. I was so ready to catch him again.
Although I only got to see a handful of songs (Higgs through Push The Sky Away) I fucking loved this set. Not complaining at all about Jack White, but this is the one time I do wish the headliner finished early so I could have seen more of Nick Cave.
Did anyone else notice his shadow on the top of the tent? We were in the back by the soundboard and it felt supernatural to watch him then glance up at the evil ass shadow being projected. So cool.
If anyone comes across a video of Red Right Hand could you please post it? That's one of the times he starred into my souls and sang to me and I'd love to see a good video of it.

I was walking by and I noticed he was playing Stagger Lee so I stopped by and listened to that song which was entertaining. Also kinda cool seeing Ashley Capps there

This is the best pic I got at Nick Cave. I went in with no expectations and was blown away. I'm so very glad I decided to see this over everything else.

Awesome picture! He has a kind of preacher way about him when he performs.. without being preachy, ya know? The crowd is just so eager to listen and experience with him.

I'm still buzzin' from how awesome this show was! I can't wait to finally check out my pictures from this set and hope that the shadows you speak of turn out well!
