Childish Gambino is announcing additional concert dates this Tuesday via Twitter. Expecting Bonnaroo to announce additions Tuesday as well so it could be a good sign.
Lolla is announcing their lineup on Tuesday so that's probably it.

I feel like despite Kanye headlining, hip hop is sorely underrepresented this year so I really hope they add some more. Wiz Khalifa really shouldn't be the second billed rapper, but I doubt they'll add anyone that could supersede him like Drake or maybe Schoolboy Q. I'd really like to see some more mid tier acts like Le1f, Kool A.D., or Young Thug. Hell, I'd even take a Riff Raff late night set.
Could last year's rap be this year's EDM? (Forgive me if I'm not depicting the genre correctly). Last year there were more rap acts and a hip hop superjam. This year, there's a high number of quality electronic artists (skrillex, zedd, kaskade, disclosure, chvrches, glitch mob, Robert Delong, Classixx, Sam Smith, rudimental*, chromeo*, washed out*, cut copy*, etc.) and a skrillex superjam. See the pattern perhaps?
*debatable due to their live performances if they'd fall into "EDM" or whatever kids call it these days.
I would say overall Sam Smith has little to do with EDM. Most of what he does would be singer/songwriter. His vocals have been featured in EDM songs and I have heard a few Sam Smith remixes to some songs, but the bulk of songs I have listened to by him lean towards singer/songwriter with an occasional nod to electronic music. I feel like most of his set will be singer/songwriter based. But yeah, I agree with your post, there is a lot of EDM or close to it this year.

Pure EDM: Skrillex, Kaskade, Disclosure, Zedd, Skrillex Superjam, the Glitch Mob, James Blake, Chromeo, Darkside, Rudimental, Break Science, Cherub, and Classixx. EDM elements: Cut Copy, Chvrches, Robert Delong, a Tribe Called Red, Washed Out,
Yeah that's a shit ton and a big step up from last year. Despite that I feel like they picked a great group.

Fixed your list for you.
So now we're arguing semantics? I'd say Disclosure falls under pure EDM easily, they make garage with catchy vocals. Pretty much the same with Classixx. Chromeo I could see falling under the latter. You're including the Naked and the Famous but leaving off James Blake? Hmmmmm.

James Blake and DARKSIDE is IDM.
EDM Element = Dance Music
Pure EDM = A DJ(s).
Really the only argument I see is whether Glitch Mob with their live show is not considered Pure EDM.
I wouldn't mind if Gambino is the big addition because it would make a lot of people on here happy, but he would not be on my top 500 choices as an addition.
Anyway, hopefully Perfcect Pussy is added as a cafè act, and fucking please add the Strokes. If not I'll settle for Interpol

If Infected Mushroom is considered Industrial Dance Music, and Glitch Mob is IDM too. Then I wouldn't classify James Blake as IDM. definitely EDM, but he could also be R&B. James Blake is like How to Dress Well, but better producer and singer in my opinion.
Naked and the famous have electronic keyboard but I wouldn't call them EDM, because they aren't really production based. They would be classified in the same field as Passion Pit,Chrvches, and The XX.

Music Midtown: 2011 Bonnaroo: 2012 - 2016 Forecastle: 2013 Rock al Parque: 2014 420 Fest: 2014-2018 Shaky Knees: 2015 - 2019, 2021 Seen tons of local shows since 2004.

Definitely not IDM. Baths and Aphex Twin are IDM, those guys are more downtempo than anything. Why can't regular edm be performed live, it has to be a DJ now? Disclosure and Classixx perform live but they're straight EDM, no questions. The problem is that EDM is such an umbrella term that it can be difficult to classify each artist. Don't try to correct me when you honestly believe James Blake is IDM, though. That's just silly talk.

I am BEN
But are you pure Ben? This is the important question.
If you've listened to James Blake at all in the recent past you'd recognise that he's pretty much an R&B singer at this point. Listing him as anything "-DM" is madness.

And oh yeah, this year is loaded with both electronic music and dance music. Other than 2010's lunar stage, no other year comes close IMO to the amount of dance music or electronic we have this year. Combine that with a better than average global tent, big names in metal, headliners that aren't playing at every fest and three superjams: this year's Bonnaroo is truly unique.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

Even though the initial lineup featured more artist than in previous years, Bonnaroo should begin to role out the vendors, comedy, cinema, cafe artists, and the schedule all before mid-May. I was assuming that this week is the week we get some kind of addition, but it could go as long as April 15th (Funkiest Dancer Top 10 date) before we get any additions. Just hoping for something soon.

My bad on SS. I'd agree with you on that...but for humor sake and how this discussion has crumbled into a battle of semantics, his music has some electronic sounds, and those sounds make me dance. Bingo Bango...EDM.
Can someone give me a reasonable defense of Because The Internet?
I saw a pretty good one some time back, it made some decent points enough to make me want to give it another chnace(I still didn't) but I didn't buy it, it was very its cool to hate on the album so I'm gonna try extra hard not to hate on it and be cool for not hating it, might have been COS.
