Kanye... Please, Kanye... There are a lot more worthy artists and this year's schedule isn't exactly filled with artists that I can brag to my grandkids about in the distant future. At least last year there was Paul McCartney.
If you only go to shows so you can brag to your grandkids, then you are doing it wrong. By the time you have grandkids, they aren't going to have a clue who the fuck you are talking about.
Exactly. Just like I have no idea who The Everly Brothers or Elvis are when my grandma talks to me about them... Unlike others, I plan on raising children/grandchildren who have decent taste in music.

Having said that, I hope they all end up listening to music that makes you want to vomit. I want them to hang up posters in their rooms that you want to tear down. I want them to sneak out at night to go see bands you don't want them to listen to. I want them to make a blood oath with the likes of Spin Doctors and Justin Bieber. I hope they sacrifice small animals in the name of Kanye West and eat it's organs in the shame that you missed his set at Bonnaroo of 2014.

Nick Swardson had a bit in his stand up about how the oldies music when he's a grandparent are going to be Dr. Dre and other hip hop that he'll have to explain. Things like how "You know, your grandmother was a Ho".
Well just when I've come to terms with there not being any artist additions this year and deciding that I am completely OK with it since the lineup given is awesome and as far as I'm concerned the atmosphere at Bonnaroo is more than enough to keep me coming back, the Bonnaroo Twitter account puts out an exciting, albeit generic tweet...
"A whole lotta exciting announcements coming this week... Stay Tuned! #Bonnaroo"
And just like that, I have to wonder again. What do you all think? Unusually late artist additions? The schedule? Both? The reveal of the Mystery Superjam? Was the Mystery Superjam not revealed until now because it includes someone from the artist additions? Who knows. But it looks like we are coming into an exciting week to be a Bonnaroovian! Not to mention any announcements are a welcome way to break up finals week!

I'd say it's the schedule, maybe superjam. I'd put artist additions to rest. If it happens, awesome, but it's better to not expect anything and be surprised, then expect additions and be let down.

Agreed! Definitely a good way to look at it. Last year was my first time and I learned that when it comes to Bonnaroo, you can't really go wrong!

I'm honestly glad there haven't been any additions, at this point, if more artists were added it would just mean more artists I can't see. Only a Strokes or Julian Casablancas add could make me rearrange my current schedule tbh
Seasick Steve's set probably just got a few more people at it.
Whoa! Biggest last-minute addition ever?
As an aside, if you saw the '07(?) superjam, I kinda sorta hate yo' ass.
I accidentally sat down and fell asleep after 20ish minutes of the 07 superjam. I might have been 300 feet from the stage. But the Good Times, Bad Times to open the show was crazy.
Awesome news. Some others had been talking about John Paul Jones possibly being involved with Seasick Steve so it's great to get a confirmation.
Superjam = Jeff Tweedy, John Paul Jones, and members of White Denim
It'd be awesome to see JPJ in Superjam again though I doubt they'd do all Zeppelin tunes.
Now I'm seeing that JPJ is essentially in the band and the fact that he'll be at Bonnaroo won't be a big deal (I'd just thought it was album appearances). The Capp Dogg is getting crafty with the marketing.

Yea, he's essentially in the band but I wasn't sure if he played all live shows or only select ones. Either way, it's good to know for sure. I was going to be at the set anyway but this gets me more excited.
