Their concert at Barclays Center in October was one of the best shows Ive seen. They need to play at night, their stage setup needs the dark. I wouldnt be surprised if they played the main stage like 8-10 and Kanye went on at 11.
I saw Phoenix during the day at Music Midtown and it was great. I really think they are quite better than Passion Pit live mainly due to the singer comparison there. I was not a fan at all when I went either. Instantly converted by the end of Entertainment (first song).
Yeah, they did well to put Phoenix during sunset. It added to the mood perfectly.
Just listening to Wolfgang Amadeus, thinking about how i use to hate 1901 because of it's incredible amount of overplay on radio, way before my days on inforoo. Man things have changed.
I have not seen Phoenix live. I've only seen video. I'm getting pretty excited about seeing this band guys.
I should also really give Bankrupt another chance. I love their older stuff, but I didn't love Bankrupt the first few times I heard it. I have yet to see Phoenix live though so I'm pumped for them
They are a great live band. Thomas the lead singer is great. He interacts with the crowd, crowd surfs, etc. I find him genuinely honest when he thanks the crowd. The French accent plays a part I'm sure.
I wasn't a huge Bankrupt fan but Entertainment, S.O.S. in Bel Air, Chloroform, and Trying to Be Cool are all strong live.
Awesome! I'm looking forward to finally getting to see them. I'll have to re-listen/pay attention to those songs!
The Phoenix into Crystal Castles into Girl Talk was one of the best Roo LN ever for me. People didn't like the Crystal Castles set due to sound and visibility issues but if you were close enough it was a killer show. Made it over the rail and on to the stage for Girl Talk.
Man that was a fantastic LN, and if I remember correctly Phoenix was a late addition to open the tent - an excellent call, although it was kinda ridic that they were originally scheduled to play such a tiny stage.
Every Phoenix show I've been to has been a blast with great energy among the band and the crowd. The last time I saw them was nearly 4 years ago to close out the Which Stage on that brutally hot Sunday at Bonnaroo '10, so I'm very much looking forward to this show. Hopefully with some better weather this time - having them play Friday or Saturday around 8 pm as the sun is setting sounds good to me.
Just the thought of hearing If I Ever Feel Better live is getting me happy/excited.

At lolla last year I was about 5 rows back for Two door cinema club into vampire weekend, after vampire weekend most everyone cleared out in front of me to go to perrys im guessing and got to experience this being front row for Phoenix def has its perks with that kind of show, and inmy opinion have a much better live show than Vampire weekend but both are amazing

I had never heard of phoenix and showed up an hour before their set to get a spot for crystal castles (who I loved at the time, over it now). I was pretty much front row for both and phoenix blew me away.

Pretty cool:

I saw them live a couple years ago during the Wolfgang tour, they sounded spot on and the show was lots of fun. Like someone else said the singer interacts with the crowd a lot. He jumped in the crowd with what had to have been the longest mic cable ever and worked his way through the crowd while singing. I wasnt even remotely close to the stage and the next thing I know he is belting out the end of the song right in front of me!
With all the other great Phoenix videos already posted I figured Id add this one to them. Just in case u haven't seen it.
This video puts me in such a good place. I still can picture myself dancing around to this song back by the trees. Great times - and I can't wait to see them on the farm this year.

I didnt know them in 09, and was too exhausted in 10 to see their show because i went til dawn the night before. But i really want to see this show. And their new albums awesome
I've loved phoenix since I saw their music video for run run run on mtvu while in college 10 YEARS AGO! lol and once I heard 'if I ever feel better' -- I couldn't get enough. In my hard core psychedelics days, fences was my jam and love like a sunset part 1 and 2 would blow me away. I once had to pull over the car bc I felt too high while listening to love like a sunset. I've never had the option of seeing them before, so I'm a little beyond excited. #girlboner
Really disappointed in their schedule placement....they'd be much better either pre-HL on What or LN Which. I've already seen them, but I'm convinced I can catch a few songs of their set and still rush over to get a decent spot for Kanye.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
