I can see Jake Bugg playing Thursday. Really wouldn't surprise me if CHVRCHES was in Alt-J's spot this year. Which means I need to not get distracted at another tent so I can get a spot that is more than one inch inside the tent.
Something I just noticed about Thur. bands... this year it's going back to being new bands instead of OMG I want to see all of these bands! In fact, I don't see any of them that make me react that way, except Deafheaven actually being on Thur.
Just looked at last years poster and Thursday was entirely bands in the bottom half of the bill so that seems a decent place to start. I'm guessing from naked and famous onward. Naked and famous Washed out Real estate Ms Mr Rudimental Cloud nothings

That just means you haven't been paying attention, because some of the best acts on the lineup look to be Thursday bands, yet again. And most of these are hardly "new." Though it is only your personal reaction, I suppose, so no offense meant.
Also, Disclosure, just because I know Roo has to book at least one band for Thursday that just shouldn't be there...
Disclosure's not playing on Thursday
Well since you said it so persuasively...
What of White Denim? They played Thursday last time and they've gotten at least a bit bigger...they also played the Bonnaroo 365 tour. Do they get a different day/longer slot? Better slot on same day? (Are there few enough jam bands for them to warrant one of the really late night sets?)

Which of these bands would you consider as the best acts on the lineup?

If we're just going off the presumption that it'll be mostly the lowest-billed?
