I saw him on Sunday night. Was great but agree that he should do some darker stuff too. Didn't do (Side A) Old, The Returned or Gremlins but played for less than an hour. Chuck them three in the set and it is over an hour and everyone is happy.
The phrase Molly bangers literally makes me cringe. Up there with YOLO.
Who says Molly bangers though? That's really lame.
Lol I have never heard that term before this but yeah I agree. I don't mind Danny really but referring to anything as Molly bangers is just the worst. Does he refer to his music as this or just his fans?

He doesn't refer to his music, nor his fans as "Molly Bangers".
One of RJ's friends coined the term, and it then spread in this thread:
I can't find a single link on the internet in which Danny Brown refers to his songs as "molly bangers." Are you sure it wasn't a dweeby friend who came up with that term Son of a Beek?
To follow up, the video I thought I saw it in didn't refer to them as that. It was probably one of my friends that coined the term and it just caught on within my group of friends.

Old was one of my favorite albums of last year, but I could see Danny's crowd being VERY bad depending on the time of day. I almost hope he gets a daytime slot. Less chance of conflict and less chance of the crowd being out of their heads.
That said, I'll be there unless the conflict is terrible. I think he's one of the more talented rappers making music today.

I thought Dope Song was more introspective. Dip is the definition of a Molly Banger, whatever that actually means. Its still 100% awesome though. I don't do drooqs but this is a can't miss show for me. Also if you're looking to familiarize yourself with Danny Brown you should probably get used to the unnecessary use of the word molly.

I had a brief encounter with the crowd for ASAP Rocky last year as I was exiting Tame Impala. It was awful. I expect a similar type crowd will show up for Danny Brown, so I will stay far away from this show. I understand not everyone going to see Danny Brown will be as I fear, but the majority likely will. Also, I much prefer the first half of Old, which he seems to have no interest in performing. A shame if you ask me.

I had the opportunity to catch a Danny Brown show last night in Ithaca, at a small venue with maybe 90 people in the crowd. After some absolutely terrible opening acts Danny came out and put on an awesome 90+ minute set. He performed a good variety of music from XXX and Old as well as a few pre XXX tracks. Such a high energy show, he is a great entertainer. Can't wait to catch his set at Roo!
I saw the Danny Brown set in 2012. The crowd wasn't obnoxious, just young and super excited. He opened with Witit and I lost my shiz. Here is the Setlist, make your own decision about whether or not these are "molly bangers."
Witit Radio Song Grown Up Lie4 Blueberry (Pills And Cocaine) I Will Head For Free Die Like a Rockstar Pac Blood Bruiser Brigade Outer Space Adderall Admiral Piss Test Terrorist Threats Re-Up Baseline Monopoly Blunt After Blunt
Danny Brown is a talented MC and he can put on a pretty solid live show, but damned if he doesn't draw one of the worst crowds I've ever had the misfortune of being around. Just loads of absolutely blitzed teenagers acting in ignorant fashion. Did anyone see him at Bonnaroo last time? What was the crowd like?
He was awesome in 2012. I don't think RJ was there, which always helps.

I didn't enjoy him at all in 2012. Then again I wasn't familiar with any of his music and I was only there so that a friend wouldn't have to go alone/ assured me it would be an awesome show.
I know its a terrible cliche, but hip-hop just doesn't do it for me on the farm (with the exception of Nas). And no, I wasn't there to see Jay-Z.

Word. I had brussels sprouts the other night and I didn't enjoy them at all. Then again, I also hate vegetables.
Well, I do enjoy hip-hop a lot. I've just seen too many disappointing hip-hop shows at Roo (Eminem 2011, Lil'Wayne 2011, Danny Brown 2012, Kendrick Lamar 2013). Maybe it's just me.
I did enjoy Big Boi in 2011 though. He was amazing. So was Nas in 2013.

If the current schedule holds up, I'm pumped to see Danny Brown with almost no conflicts and during the day when the crowd will be wayyy less weird than it would be late night. Save that shit for the Zedd/Glitch Mob/Kaskade power hours.
