I'm in a weird position with Arctic Monkeys and Vampire Weekend. On one hand, I've seen both artists multiple times and neither was a mind blowing experience. On the other, both are touring on my favorite album of theirs. I'm just trying to mentally work through the inevitable clusterfuck where both of those bands I dig a lot are playing at the same time in addition to tent sets I would like to see.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
Keep in mind that every year there are "confirmations" that end up to not be true when the schedule comes out. The one I can think of off the top of my head is Erykah Badu being listed Fri. the entire time and on Sun. when the schedule actually came out. Some of these will be on different days that what they have listed.
White Denim are opening for Arctic Monkeys all summer. If White Denim has shows on sat and Sun, it's looking like Friday will be Arctic Monkeys closing which vs VW(What) before Kanye. Ouch.
BETTER NOT.
Nah, they have their own show in Newport, KY on June 15th so Monkeys could still be sun and they continue the tour on the 17th.
vampire weekend and arctic monkeys will not conflict. there may be a lot of running around and it may be one after the other like mumford->black keys->buffalo springfield-> eminem in 2011 but there's no way they'd have the two most hyped hipster-loved shit conflict.

Vampire Weekend, Arctic Monkeys, Phoenix, and the Avett Brothers all seem too big for the Which. Which is the odd one out that doesn't pre-headline? My guess is Arctic Monkeys plays before the Avett Brothers on Sunday
Friday: Vampire Weekend -> Kanye
Saturday: Phoenix -> Lionel -> Jack White
Sunday: Arctic Monkeys -> Avett Brothers -> Elton John

Is there a possibility that Avett goes before Arctic? I think by putting Arctic before Elton, it would be a testament to how far they have come as a band. I know Avett have a strong following with Roo as well as in general, but maybe this time Arctic get that pre headlining spot before Elton.

Also I know it's been about 3 years since there has been a what LN closer, but Phoenix before Lionel? I don't think so. I'm thinking Phoenix play after Jack White, so any hoping to see Frank Ocean, you may have to choose. I think it'll be Phoenix(11:30-1:00) What vs Flaming Lips(12:00-2:00) on Which performing Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band vs Frank Ocean (12:30-2:00) in one of the tents.

I wasn't there, but wasn't the LN What "closer" you're talking about actually a headliner, Jay Z right? I remember watching the live stream of that show and it was pretty damn late. Like I said, I wasn't there so I could be wrong...
I would say that's a placeholder for Omar Souleyman, but he has NY gigs on Friday and Saturday and a show in Toronto a few days later. It's pretty weird for returning acts to play Thursday isn't it?
Also, Arctic Monkeys could just as easily play Sunday after their Saturday KY gig. Someone pointed out that White Denim is opening their June shows, but they booked a headlining club gig in Newport, KY on Sunday. Seems like something an act would do if their headliner was at a fest that day. On the other hand, it would probably make more logistical sense for both of them to play Friday.
Have we considered Arctic Mondays-> Kanye Friday (with Phoenix between on the Which) and Avett Brothers/Vampire Weekend/Elton Sunday (with NMH closing the Which)? Sundays have been pretty top-heavy in the past haven't they?
