honestly, my main thought was "this is exactly the kind of music I wish I was dancing to with my friends in the middle of a field at 3PM while drinking a beer right now".

3PM??
I do think I would enjoy this music played loudly best in the middle of the afternoon, but you could also easily substitute “5 PM”, “7 PM”, or “1 AM”.
Didn't they play in the mid or late afternoon in 2015? I feel like the sun was out.
sun was setting and was dark for a good portion of it.
TBH at the time I barley knew who MMJ was, other than people on Inforoo telling me I HAD to go to the set. So I did, but may have left early. Maybe that's why I thought it was earlier.
Now that I have listened to their albums and really enjoy them, I'll be glad to see them again from this new perspective.
Listening to Fucked Up on my commute and realized they’ve never played Bonnaroo. They have one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. The energy is WILD!!!!
Halo 2 Soundtrack: Incubus | The Odyssey Movements 1-4
if you've never listened, it's ~30 minutes of mostly instrumental stuff, with a guest spot from flea on trumpet and Mike making weird guitar noises.
I like the timeline where incubus goes full psychedelic prog rock.
mike einziger used to do this really cool jazz shit in a side project called Time-Lapse Consortium, which was him, jose (incubus drummer), Ben Kenney (roots bassist at the time, now incubus bassist), neal evan from soulive on keys, and an amazing violin/viola/cello player whose name I don't recall. but they did some really wild psychedelic jazz stuff that's awesome. not in spotify, but there's some videos floating around on youtube. I still have a cd-r i bought in the lot at an incubus show ~2004ish(?) I need to dig out of the attic.
I’m watching Rebilliet’s stream at halftime. He’s been playing some jazz keys. Not sure what happened earlier or what might come. But it was feeling Sunday there for a while. I’ll skim the other parts later after basketball to see if anything was interesting.
