I went to my first Bonnaroo last year and going again this year! Buying VIP this is year and was wondering where exactly do you stand at these stages? I couldn't find anything specific showing where you stand with VIP passes.

At What Stage there is a small hill off to the side (far left as you are in the crowd looking at the stage). At Which Stage there is a set of bleachers that only VIP can sit in, but I am not sure how closely they monitor who gets in.
Neither of these viewing areas are that spectacular. In the past I have just sat on the ground just like anyone else who has a general admission wristband. The bleachers at Which Stage might be a good option for some shows, but they are kinda far back away from the stage.
If you want to get close at all, your best bet is to just walk up, because the VIP viewing areas have not been close to the stages in years past.

I was just reading around, and I think I need to amend my previous answer. I wasn't able to go to 'Roo last year and apparently there were some changes I missed out on. The bleachers for Which Stage were not there last year, and instead, my understanding is there was a "pit" at Which Stage on one side that was only for VIP's. I hope this is back this year; I will utilize the crap out of it.

Yup The bleachers are now ADA I believe, the right side pit at Which (closest to the VIP bathrooms/backstage road) is VIP . . . ya, its awesome
i was on the left side of the what for most shows except tom petty and i never saw any bees?
actually, i dont' think i saw a bee all weekend, i'd remember that... i'm allergic. or just terrified of them because i swear i'm allergic, my mom says i'm not. i'm not convinced.

The best part about the VIP Which stage pit is that hardly anyone goes over there. I walked up half way through R. Kelly's set and was only like 3 rows of people back.

You know, I have never, not been at the rail for a show when I wanted to be there. I was a foot from Bruce (on the right side) touching the stage with lil' wayne on the right side. and Phish 2011 right side again. I think it all comes down to personality. And I didn't even argue at any of them.
Huh? It wasn't a joke. The bees at Bonnaroo are really bad. This was Skrillex in 2012.
I took it as the left side is the best way to get close to the stage and you should stay away because of the bees.. cough...cough. And you know that. She's a regular and deserves a fair answer.

The VIP viewing for the Which stage is one of the best advantages of VIP. There are two options. There is a VIP viewing area that is angled off to the right of the Which stage. The views are quite good from this area as is the sound. However, you can also get into the pit area which is directly in front of the stage. For shows earlier in the day, you should have little to no problem just strolling right in there and watching the show from this area. About five minutes before Grizzly Bear started last year, I entered the pit and enjoyed the show from about 20 feet away. For The Lumineers, who closed the stage, there was a good sized line to get into this pit area, so I didn't bother.

I cannot emphasize enough how great the VIP viewing area for the Which Stage is. For a stage that is notorious for having crowd and sound issues, the experience is amazing.
Five minutes before the Lumineers, I was sitting on the ground with my girlfriend in the VIP viewing area relaxing and eating Spicy Pie and an Amish Donut.
When I stood up and saw the crowd in GA 10 feet to my left, and how congested it was, I knew VIP was the right call.
I cannot emphasize enough how great the VIP viewing area for the Which Stage is. For a stage that is notorious for having crowd and sound issues, the experience is amazing.
It's funny how this issue really highlights the GA/VIP dichotomy. Anyone who goes GA hopes and prays that their favorite acts don't get put on Which and I'm over here sleeping with my PJs inside out every night between here and schedule release hoping that Which has all the acts I want to see.
