Well, looks like I will now be hitting this show up as well because I'll be waiting for J Roddy and Ty Segall. Luckily I'm a big fan of the weeknd so this should be easy to get in to.

Don't know why it took me so long to discover her, but glad I did with time to get excited for her show. Luckily she doesn't conflict with anything else I want to see.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

You've been missing out. Per usual. She's amazing and one of my new lady crushes of this year. In addition to Lauren Mayberry & ZZ Ward.

Well holy shit. Did not expect this to be my favorite set of day one, and did not expect this to be my first bonnaroo moment of 2014, but I definitely caught the feeling.
This set was like a dark sexy dream. I literally had an erection the entire time. OK that last line wasn't true but it was a badass set. She has an amazing voice, and the music was fantastic. Huge crowd, of course, as they all are on Thursday, but not so huge that I couldn't get a spot under the tent.
At one point she remarked that she was so depleted from touring going into this show, but she couldn't believe the energy the crowd was giving her. And before her last song she said it was the greatest night of her life. Seemed genuine, not just standard artist/crowd "We were told they knew how to rock in Shelbyville, but nobody rocks like... Springfield!"
I love it when an artist gets a taste of what makes Bonnaroo so special. At the risk of sounding cheesy, it is the crowd. We can say all festival crowds are the same, and in many ways they are, but of all the festivals I go to, Bonnaroo crowds care more about the music than any other. They are enthusiastic, they scream, they dance, they participate. When an artist sees that and recognizes it, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
She really was amazing live. Her voice sounds just as good in person and I was so excited to have this be my first show of the featival. I got off work at 9:40 and booked it across the fest and got to my entrance like 5mins before.... Totally worth spilling my whiskey ALL OVER the inside of my bag while I was power walking

Unfortunately, I missed her at Bonnaroo, but she's playing a Nashville show in September. I take it from this thread that I should definitely buy tickets to the show?

I walked away from her set adding her to my rotation of music. Her style of music is not what I listen to on a daily basis but I have her in the mix now.
The video she just posted on FB was pretty epic though. 12k ?!?
I won't believe that number until Sang verifies.
I can't verify because I never took my eyes off of her to look behind me. She was captivating. I barely knew her songs but they were so fucking good. And then like dummies we stuck to our schedule and left to see Polica. Big Mistake.

Why did no one like Polica? They're a great band.
I can't even say what it was, my wife felt the same way though. Coming in Polica was one of the bands I was most excited about on Thur. They just didn't deliver. I think for us Banks may have had a lot to do with it. She was absolutely killing it and then we went over to Polica and it just didn't compare.
