Yup. Yup yup yup.
The Electric Lady doesn't sit totally right with me since it's mixed like a 2000s record for the most part, super clean, processed, etc, but it's got some kick-ass tunes I'm looking forward to hearing live.
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.
Ooooh, shock it, break it baby, electric lady, electric lady.
Everyone will be doin' these moves by the time they leave the farm on Sunday, mark my words.
This show is going to be the biggest dance party of the weekend. She's easily my number one on the entire lineup. I am in love with Janelle Monae, and I could never see her live show enough times.
Bonus points go to Kellindo Parker -- this guy belongs damn near the top of the "best guitarists on the farm 2014" list. He is going to shred people's faces off.
10/19/14-Phantogram
11/29/14-New Politics, Bad Suns
4/17/15-Hippo Campus, Night Riots, The Mowglis
5/1/15-Penn State Movin' On Music Festival-New Politics, Passion Pit, Big Gigantic, Big Sean
6/11/15-6/14/15-Bonnaroo!
6/21/15 - Paul McCartney
6/27/15-Halsey, Imagine Dragons
I'm a huge fan of Archandroid and a little bummed to see she only plays 4 or so songs from it.
I would have loved to see that live. So pretty.
Definitely agree. Electric Lady has lots of hits, but Archandroid has a feel and flow to it that is just unreal. When I saw her a month ago in the Bronx she closed with Come Alive and literally FREAKED out on stage, crowd diving, pushing people over, throwing stuff everywhere... It's amazing to see someone who can sing something as sultry and powerful as Primetime is also a total nutcase. I have never had such a crush on a lady as I do with Janelle.

I haven't seen any shows on this tour, but I've read that there are a lot of ('cuz I don't know how to say it) "props" and stuff involved. I.E. She apparently gets brought out in a straight jacket or something similar? Do we think she'll bring that whole show/setup to the farm? Do we think she'll be on Which? I know when I saw Foster the People two years ago they had all their backdrops and stuff set up, but they were closers.
I really hope I get the full electric lady experience, but I'm really unsure whether I should be expecting it.

I saw her live late last year, and I think at least a bit of her live show could be recreated on the farm. It's a lot more than just her up there singing - she's got her backing band and chorus singers and stuff. I think that if they can fit the Polyphonic Spree on the Fountain Stage, they could fit Janelle Monae's show in a tent.
"Janelle Monáe has canceled two out of five dates on the Australian and New Zealand leg of her Golden Electric Tour, due to sudden illness.
According to Billboard, a statement issued by promoters, Live Nation Australasia, said Monáe has been required to stay in Melbourne under medical supervision to assess her recovery.
On Saturday, Monáe canceled her Melbourne show after Kimbra’s opening performance, even though her band was already set up. The singer stayed in Melbourne and canceled Monday night’s show in Sydney as well.
No word from the Electric Lady singer as yet, but Live Nation is expected to make a statement today about rescheduling the missed dates. MTV News has reached out to Monáe, but has not heard back by press time."

Am i missing something? What's wrong with Janelle?
and by default it will be Jack Johnson again.
About 10 days ago, her co-headlining tour with Kimbra started, got through the Kimbra portion of the first show, and then Janelle's band came out and said she was too sick to perform. The whole tour has since been canceled.
There were also some odd-sounding venue shifts and things beforehand, so I dunno if there is something else going on.

Hmmm well, she has 2 weeks to get that shiz under control! I'm actually on the fence on seeing her set because I wanted to check out Naked & Famous, but I was still planning to catch at least part of her set. I'm sure she'll still show..
Speaking of cancellations.. anyone know why AM & Shawn Lee are no longer on the bill?? Was looking forward to seeing them.
