For those of you that aren't familiar with Ravinia it was voted a top 10 amphitheater in the US. www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/the-best-amphitheaters-in-america-20130620/ravinia-chicago-19691231 Seats aren't too expensive but for less than half the price you can get a lawn seat for it's very large picnicking area. It's first come first serve so if you get there when the gates open you can picnic right behind the seating area. It's bring your own food and alcohol so it's a pretty good deal. My wife and I try to go a couple times a year and we've seen some pretty good shows there including Willy Nelson, David Byrnes and St. Vincent, Iron and Wine, Hall and Oates, Crosby Stills And Nash, and a few others.
So anybody in the Chicagoland area wanna check out a beautiful outdoor venue or thinking about traveling here, the lineup was just released with ticket prices and they go on sale April 24th. Some shows sell out within minutes and others don't at all.
