Deafhaven wasn't bad when I saw them, but it's one of those things you want to be real close to the stage to appreciate.
I actually think they are pretty good live. Just not life changing or anywhere close to as epic as their recorded Sunbather. Now, when I saw Mastodon a couple years ago at the Tabernacle, they were bad to the f*cking bone.

When you saw Deafheaven were there mosh pits? Or was it as hipster as I imagine

Probably more hipster than you imagine. The Smiths were the house music. There was one long haired dude that was way more metal than everybody else. He tried to start a mosh pit with all of the hipsters, but nobody joined in. Security came out and made him stop.

Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
It'd be fun if there was a pit at the Roo show, have you ever been to a show at Bonnaroo with a mosh pit?
I moshed during "March of the Pigs" and "Wish" at Nine Inch Nails 2009. I recall some moshing at mastodon 08 and dillinger escape plan 09. It always seemed like they saved the metal for sunday though and the moshing was half assed exausted moshing
On the subject of deafheaven, I have to agree with some of the others that their instrumentation is amazing but I can't take the screaming.

If these guys open a tent, they'll maybe be the only band on the lineup that will drag me out of my campsite and into Centeroo by noon to see them. I'll regret it the rest of the day, but I'm not missing these guys.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Disclosure had just closed with Latch and I was walking over to This Tent when I heard the opening guitar of Dream House and sprinted the rest of the way. No idea why they made This Tent the metal tent, as others said this show was crazy empty and even Mastodon had a less than half-full tent.

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Heh. Apparently I had enough "wine" to get through this Swans. I actually quite enjoyed the Mastodon/Deafheaven mosh pits. I think I even poked a few people with my unicorn horn. Sure it was a something to see, Rainbow Unicorn moshing.
