First off, I apologize if a thread like this has already been created, but I couldn't seem to find one.
This year will be my first Bonnaroo, and am completely excited, but also somewhat nervous. I've read countless threads and guides, and feel totally prepared from the "survival" aspect of Bonnaroo.
One thing I've been curious about though:
What games/activities do you bring to entertain yourself and/or your group when you're at your campsite?
I've never had this problem. I'm at my camp almost exclusively to sleep and sometimes eat. There's so much to hear and see at Bonnaroo, I can't stay at the campsite lol. There's music in Centeroo and vendors galore and food to try and people to watch...anything I can do at the campsite I can do at home.

So no flip cup or beer pong? Have you ever seen people playing any games at camps? I know I'm going to be inside centeroo quite a bit from everything I've read, but surely people must hang out at their campsites a bit.

Or am I just completely off on this one.
Yeah, people do that - it's just not really what I go to Roo for I guess. I've seen beer games, and cornhole, and there's always hooping. I remember one year there was a guy that just sat in his chair in a wizard's hat, drinking beer and high-fiving everyone who walked by. He seemed to be having a pretty awesome time lol.

Yes I think some people do hang out at their campsites, as for games, I have no idea, but I am a lot older and that really would not be something I paid attention to
The longest time I spent at camp this year was Sunday night. We stayed up with our neighbors drinking having a good time just hanging out and getting to know new people. Otherwise I was either sleeping, eating, or getting ready. I was also camped out in BFE so we had a long walk to & from centeroo. I suppose if you were closer you'd spend more time at camp. But really you don't need to plan on killing a whole lot of time.
Like said above, I've seen people playing pong or corn hole but it's few and far between and not really necessary. You can play flip cup at home, I wouldn't want to waste time doing it at roo when there is so much good music to be heard and so many cool ass people to meet.
We didn't hang out at our campsite much at all. We had breakfast, and an early lunch then hit Centeroo. But, if we had wanted to play games, we would not have had much room. There was not room for a card table in our General Admission camping space. There certainly wasn't room for cornhole.
I would suggest a hula hoop or a hacky sack. Very little room in your vehicle when packing.

I appreciate all your feedback. I guess I just don't quite have a grasp of what a typical day at Roo is yet, but it sounds like I'll be coming games-free. Thanks for helping out a first time Roo-er.

See you there!
A typical day for me is waking up around 7 (I can never sleep well at Roo ) Deciding on my clothes for the day (can take a while....), showering (possibly) and doing something with my hair. Hang out and chat with my friends while we eat breakfast and start drinking. Compare schedules (this can take a while!), arrange as much goodies as possible to sneak into Centeroo, then head in around 11, if we have early bands to see. Leave plenty of time to stand in line, because sometimes the lines are long.
Once inside, I feel like time just flies, especially when moving to different stages, meeting up with friends, getting food, etc. I sometimes will take a nap in Centeroo, in the shade if I get a break in music. And then before you know it, it's 2am/5am and all I want to do is sleep. Once I am done, I usually go straight to my tent and crash. I do not usually party at my campsite after a long day, because I am too old for that shit and need my sleep

We play beersbee.
Get two 2" pvc poles, each six feet long. Hammer them into the ground 25-30 feet apart. On top of each pole, put a full beer can. Two people per team, both on the same side. Throw frisbee at opposing pole attempting to either hit the pole or can causing the can or frisbee to hit the ground. If either item hits the ground its a point. Must alway be holding a beer, leaving only one hand free to catch the frisbee/falling beer can. Can't block the frisbee from hitting the pole. Play to 21
Cheap to build, doesn't take up much space, tons of fun.

that sounds fantastic. I may bring this, and even if I don't get around to playing it, at least I'll have it for non-bonnaroo (non-aroo?) camping type situations

We brought games we woke up around 8 made breakfast and started drinking.
I brought a pong/ flip cup table we also had a car table we had a lot of room since we had 4 cars with 2 people in each so we put our tents in 2 cars spots then set up our hang out area in the other 2. Having a table was nice for meetin people. And to preface the day and night shows I like going back to camp personally I still see a lot of shows so to each his own I suggest bringing something it can't hurt plus it's fun and you meet people. I just strapped the table on too of my car and piled all my gear on top of it worked like a charm !
I spend a decent amount of time at camp. Although I've always done tent only so I tend to go in and out of Centeroo quite a bit. Some suggestions from my experience would be:
-hooping -hacky sack -at least one deck of cards, or UNO, Skip Bo, or even Old Maid! Whatever child like fun card game you would enjoy -cups for beer pong or flip cup if you are lucky enough to have room to bring a table -a ball - doesn't matter what kind, but something fun like squish balls you can find at a toy store are most fun. we've ended up having many tossing the ball around battles and challenges when just sitting around camp taking a break from the heat. -bubbles...bring lots of bubbles. could lead to hours of entertainment. -frisbee
As far as not being at camp enough to utilize this stuff, take it in with you!! With the exception of beer pong or flip cup, I've seen all of these in Centeroo when people are relaxing in the shade, waiting for a band or just want something to do.

You might have some time to enjoy at camp if you show up on Wednesday night or early thursday...
I'd recommend bringin a boombox, and if you feel like playing beer pong at least it doesn't require much more than a table...but you'll probably end up wandering around exploring roo instead of hangin at your camp... :cheers:enjoy!!
To the few people that don't hang around their camp often. How much beer do you guys bring? If you're never at the camp do you guys just drink in centeroo?

My friends and I don't drink beer, we usually have wine and liquor and drink some at camp, then strategically take some in with us. We may go back to camp once to stock up also. We plan on taking 4 boxes of wine and probably a bottle of rum Sorry can't help with the beer.
I always try and pack a set of cards just in case. I just don't spend that much time at camp to make packin' a beer pong table worth it. Always wanted to play it at 'Roo though!
I usually bring a solid 48 beers and a bottle of liquor fer the weekend. Usually most of it's gone after sharin' with friends, neighbors, and inforoo.
Last year on the way my friend bought this $5 mini golf set (made for backyard putt putt with toddlers basically) at wal-mart. We set that shit up in front of our tents right off one of the main roads to Centeroo with a bunch of stupid obstacles in addition to the ones in the box. We were offering beer to anyone who could beat the par of the course (set by myself, obviously). We called that shit CRAZY GOLF and it was a massive hit. Made lots of friends with it.
UPDATE: Here is a picture from the beginning when the course was simply to hit the ball through a tunnel and into the hole on the other side. By the end of the weekend it was a hideously deformed labyrinth of obstacles worthy of the name CRAZY GOLF. (the worst obstacle was the grass)

Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
If some of my movie buff friends end up going with me, I'm gonna try to get some games of Doug Loves Movies' Leonard Maltin Game (movie trivia) going with beer and other rooy party favors as prizes.

This is awesome. I would detour out of my way to walk by you guys.

Thanks man, I'll post our coordinates if we do it again this year for inforoosters to come by.

I brought a deck of cards, and we became friends with our neighbors 2 years ago by playing copious amounts of Asshole. When you wake up at 9am and the acts you wanna see don't start until 2, you've got some time to fill. People would come and go to see shows throughout the day, but it seemed like all day there was always at least 4 people playing asshole. Then we would all pregame together before the headliner. Bring cards; you'll make friends that way.
EDIT: Damn I forgot about the filter. Asshole, the card game, also known as "President"

Passed you guys a couple of times! Should have stopped by, but it was my first Roo and I was shockingly overwhelmed, haha. Hope to see you this summer!
