After they announced the line-up I made myself a playlist with all the bands' singles. It seems like every single time I'm impressed by a song, it's Slightly Stoopid. I seriously hope I can catch their show.
They're pretty good live. I saw them at a Hookahville a while back. Perfect lay in the grass and chill out kinda show, which makes me interested to see how they do here. Hookahville is super small and laid back and they were on a main stage during the sunset, so most people were just laying back on the hill and stuff. I don't know how that'd translate to a tent?
Chromeo!!! I can't wait to dance my arse off to these guys! I so hope they get a late night spot.
The first time I saw (and ever heard) Chromeo they were on the thursday before a hookahville. It couldn't have been more than 300 people, maybe? And it was one of the most fun dance parties I've ever been apart of. The same experience either the year before or after with Lotus, but that's a whole 'nother story. Both hold a special place in my heart and put on GREAT shows!

Wasn't really familiar with John Butler trio and now I'm turning into a big fan, same with classixx I knew a little from them but now I'm way more familiar and really enjoying them. Banks is pretty good. Kind of weird to say but I would say Lionel Richie. I knew some of his stuff but I know more of his songs then I originally thought and he has a lot more stuff I enjoy than I realized. Ty Segall and Omar Souleyman is up there as well.
Love reading when someone's becoming a new fan of JBT. I was totally unfamiliar with them until I was doing the starving artist self-backpacker tour traveling around Australia in 2006/07. Quit my 75+ hour a week job that was literally killing me (inherited some wacky sleep disorder), sold almost all my earthly possessions to check off "country of my travel dreams." Drove to D.C., flew to L.A., Sydney and straight to Perth, Western AU (and ended up hanging out in Freo, big music scene and John's home city). Saw him at a few cafe's (new friends pointed him out), heard his music on the radio, then heard him perform a free gig in Melbourne in 2007, while finally traveling interstate Oz (they did the entire Grand National album live at Federation Square); then saw them again at West Coast Blues 'n Roots Festival in Freo (when drummer Michael Barker) weeks before my visa ran out. Returned to Oz 6 mos. later (stayed a year in W.A. with a couple of road trips to South Australia) and saw him solo when he showed up to do a Save the Freo beaches protest concert. I've seen them (with his bro-in-law) Nicky Bomba 1 time near Richmond, Va. (Innsbrook at Night) and twice at Wolftrap in Vienna, Va. The last gig, last summer, they were support for SOJA and did a signing at merch. tent after their gig, so finally I got to meet this amazing jam band and thank them for their music (and got my newest CD, Tin Shed Tales autographed). Good thing, as Bomba has been involved in his own projects, Melbourne Ska Orchestra and his new band, Bustamento and by mutual agreement, left JBT last year. So, you'll be hearing the newest incarnation of the Trio with new drummer, percussionist and backing vocalist, Grant Gerathy. He's got mad skillz also Super-stoked as an 8-year JBT fan, they added Bonnaroo to their US summer touring schedule. Have you heard John's epic instrumental Ocean? Check it out - mind-blowing stuff. His life story is pretty interesting. His wife's a great muso in her own right, Danielle's stage name is Mama Kin (also dropped a new album last year). I love their studio albums, Grand National (2007) and April Uprising (2010). My favorite live albums are Live at St. Gallen (2005), Live at Red Rocks (2011) and Tin Shed Tales (2012). The new studio album Flesh and Blood, is also very good. I can hardly wait for my first 'Roo A few days after I get home, they'll be back at Wolftrap - already have 3rd row from stage tickets LOL. I guess I'm a die-hard JBT fan Hope you love their set at Bonnaroo. They're a great jam band.
"I love music. For me, music is morning coffee. It's mood medicine. It's pure magic. A good song is just like a good meal. I just want to inhale it and then share a bite with someone else." - Hota Kotb
