I take it the person that was supposed to do this did not?
The group is Austin formed, but Nashville based. I'm proud of that. Finally, someone that is NOT Kings of Leon, or sounds like Kings of Leon.
As far as their sound, their FB page says "They're like if Led Zeppelin & The Band had a baby in Joshua Tree that grew up listening to Ryan Adams covering the Stones 70's country influenced songs". Wanted to give credit where credit is due, so that @foxandhound wouldn't get all over my ass for plagiarism.
Anyway, they formed in 2010, which I had no idea. And I have yet to see them live. Shame on me. They have only one CD. And I like it. It's kinda blues, country, folk, and rock music. (also plagiarized).
And here is the video of the one hit that is getting some airplay right now.
If I had to guess, they will be a Thursday act. And I plan to be there.
Also a fun piece of info is that they didn't want to be a single vocalist band. That's while you see several of them take the lead...also pretty sure I crossed paths with the first singer, Ricky?, numerous times at nashville house parties in 2008. Small town.

Had heard The Ceiling for weeks on XM prior to the lineup drop. I even added that song to a Spotify playlist. Then saw them on the lineup and listened to some more and really looking forward to seeing them. The combination of bluesy, country, folk rock as stated above has me wanting to call it Americana rock since its easier than saying all those things but I think that is too generic a label for them. They should fit in very well as an afternoon to early evening band maybe like Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors did a few hours before the headliners last year. These guys will win the majority of possible schedule conflicts on my card.
Hey Druid, I'll be at Marathon's block party next weekend. I'll be there early to see my buddies in Roots of a Rebellion play. You should check them out, they are seriously good.
