Ok, ok you are probably thinking this guy is a joke, well let me explain!
So this year I sold my 45' Allegro (it was so cheaply made and was terrible to drive!)
I bought a new RV (Prevost XL 3 Entertainer built by Senators Coaches) but it is still being built and won't be ready until july
I absolutely LOVE a/c. So I was wondering if it is very frowned upon or completely outlawed to bring in a small 2k yamaha genset (the very quiet kind) to power a window a/c unit. The genset would only be rn maybe in the morning or when it is unbearable. I am going with some friends this year who unfortunately can't afford VIP otherwise I would be there with them. So what do you think?

Do it. We brought a setup just like it one year, but it never got hot enough to use it. If you build a big enough room it could become a real popular spot.

I believe the biggest fear is generator noise. If it's quiet, you should be fine. I would try and be nice and aim your ac vent and drip area away from others camping area.
I know some tents we looked at had a small flap area built for a small ac unit.
I thought about doing this and putting it inside my truck window. A very small window unit run off of a small gen, and putting an air mattress in the bed. I still haven't ruled that out yet either.
Have ran a Honda EU2000i for the past six years. Crank it up when noise picks up in camp. It is cool at night anyway.. Runs at 54 db. Have a charger station for cell phones for us and neighbors. I have used in window of SUV and also tent. Both work great. I posted photos last year on another thread. Look at my past post. Have Fun at Bonnaroo

The quietest generators still sound like a vacuum cleaner... but that really won't matter because if you offer to let your sweating, heat-exhausted neighbors to share your air-conditioned shade tent, they're going to be pretty thankful.

I did the exact same this last year and used it to charge about 40 or so phones in the morning and run a few fans. Everyone around us loved it. We only used it for about three hours each morning.

While I support the right to bring generators in, please be considerate of others. You will be camped with dozens of other people right on top of you. While that cool breeze might help you sleep in the morning; the noise, even on those good whisper-watts is loud. And it will almost certainly wake up those camped next to you. Add in the fumes, which make it even harder on people with things like asthma. Wait until you absolutely need it, and all of your neighbors have woken up. Personally, for me, it just seems like an awful lot to bring along.
You are purchasing a 1+ million dollar coach and are thinking of sleeping in a tent ?
Why not just rent a motorhome ?
I thought someone might say this. Im going with a bunch of friends who (I don't want to sound pretentious or like a rich douche bag) aren't as fortunate as I. They already bought tickets and had everything set. Besides I thought it might be a little fun. I could rent one but also using something like that where you sleep eat and crap where someone else has is kinda weird. I can't wait till the coach is done. I will post pictures here when its finished. AGAIN NOT TRYING TO SOUND LIKE A DOUCHE OR A RICH LITTLE F*CK, but 1m is on the low side for a coach like that .

Then you're gonna LOVE the portajohns at Bonnaroo! Of course you could refrain from eating and sleeping on the crapper. I'd look at a rented RV as a hotel room on wheels, with a better location, and without anyone stomping around on your ceiling. Or maybe hotel rooms are not good enough either.
I personally would be pretty ticked to hear that all night and day but little noises like that really bother me so I guess that's the difference
I assume that a couple hundred thousand people are going to bring noise, even generators for Bonnaroo. Last year I was right behind an rv camping area and I heard generators going all night. Not that bad.
My suggestion. Charge a good bluetooth headset and put your phone on pandora while you sleep. Usually play for 8 hrs with full charge, not that you'll get that on the farm

Oh I know it's loud haha there are just certain noises that bother me like generators and people humming,
In 12 I was on the main road right next to rv and it was rough I kid of enjoy bfe for that reason
I'll take generators over people running their cars in the morning! Neighbors did that last year and when your tents are behind cars, it is really irritating!

Wow it has been a long time since I replied. Anyway i forgot to answer why not doing RLARS, mainly because of the 30k..... A million dollar RV is an investment that I can keep and use over and over and over again, besides the RV im getting is identical to the ones they have there, even built by the same builder. 30k for a weekend? Not for me. I like the idea of doing a group bus and It may be something I might do next year. thankfully I upgraded all of my friends and I to VIP this year so SHOWERS FOR ALL .
