Pretty pumped for Sunday night. I enjoy OPN but I doubt his stuff will play well in the cavernous confines of Molson Amphitheatre. Going by the setlists it should still be a great night of music.
This! I'll be there as well. I've seen Soundgarden there before and it was a great show.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.
I'm very excited to see NIN for a sixth time, even if the setlist isn't anything really special. They've never disappointed, and I actually thought the performance at MOEMS was the best musically performed show I've seen from them (other shows have had better setlists, visuals, energy, and/or environments), hopefully they can keep that up with this tour.
Also very much looking forward to Soundgarden... Superunknown was one of the albums I took from my sister before she left for college in '96, and it was one of my favorite albums of my early teenage years. Not really sure what to expect from the performance, but I'll definitely be marking out for the setlist.
While I'm very disappointed there's no Death Grips show anymore, and I'd have preferred OPN, I'm really interested in the DEP set... loved their cameo in the NIN Roo set, but I don't really care to see them perform with each other again. I hope the shit is insane, I do enjoy some of their music, but I haven't listened to it since around that time in 09, so I should re-acquaint myself before the show.
Anyone here hitting up the Charlotte show, as it seems like everyone's going to ATL?

I'm hearing that NIN's video/light show is among the most intricate they've done, what can you say to this since you've seen it recently?
I am so jealous of you guys going to the ATL show, although I guess arriving at the beach that night for a week's vacation won't be too bad. But still.
Look for a clean shaven, short haired fat dude wearing a melvins shirt vaping on a fat copper e-cig dick while raging the lawn with about a dozen other people. I think we're going to get rained on, guys. goddammit.

I'll keep an eye out. I'd say the odds of me seeing you are around 1%.
Missed DEP due to bad traffic and almost was late for Soundgarden, but we got in just in time for that. Great set of shows, Soundgarden was better than expected and I had a blast seeing them. Kim Thayal fucking slayed and Cornell still surprisingly has his high register, he can hit them just as cleanly as in the day (with a few exceptions of course). Set highlights were The Day I Tried To Live, Outshined, and especially Rusty Cage.
NIN was spectacular as always. I can pretty confidently say that for what I've seen, it's probably the second best light/stage setup from NIN behind Lights In The Sky. Setlist felt even shorter than an hour and a half, but for one of the best live bands in existence, 45 minutes would be enough to get me out. Finally seeing The Great Destroyer performed was awesome, I was glad to see Closer brought back with a great visual aid (this may have been the most I've ever enjoyed this song in concert), and the performance of Piggy was one of the moodiest renditions I've heard. Loved it, though the tickets were a bit steep, I thought it was more or less worth it. Good crowd, too.

We also missed DEP and made it just in time for Soundgarden. I was surprised by how good Soundgarden was. I had seen Chris with Audioslave but I don't remember him sounding as good as he did the other night. The most surprising thing was that the oldest sounds are what they sounded the best on, Gun, Beyond The Wheel, Outshined, Jesus Christ Pose and Rusty Cage were amazing. Superunkown was my favorite of the songs from that album. I wish I hadn't waited that long to see them, but it was a good show. NIN was good as always. The Frail/The Wretched and Wish were probably my favorites.
Another thing that really impressed me about this set of shows is that the majority of the audience (from what I could tell at least) was pretty equally about both main acts, maybe just a bit more for NIN. Whereas at that Jane's/NIN show we saw at Lakewood in 09 it seemed like there was a clear divide of interest, with one person or another either being really into NIN and not Jane's, or into Jane's and not NIN, it really seemed like most people were into both sets.

I went last night in Tampa. Tried really hard to make it for DEP but just missed em. Soundgarden was pretty solid and NIN was amazing as always. I think the Hesistation Marks arena tour had a much better lightshow but it was still impressive nonetheless. I saw them from the lawn though, and that kind of sucked. Nobody in the crowd back there seemed very "into it". There was a little bit of minor head bobbing here and there but no dancing, no moshing, no real rocking out. Most people just standing still. I hate that.
I've been listening to NIN since the beginning and this show did not disappoint. Great mix of new and old songs. Obviously the setlist is going to be a little lacking due to time constraints but I left extremely happy.
My girl bailed on the show so Longinus and I split the cost of her ticket and I used it to go to the car and deposit all of our posters so they wouldn't get rained on then went back inside with her ticket. Excellent call as they didn't even have tubes and people clearly had $45 prints ruined by rain. Would have cried if this epicness had been ruined. We also got the Soundgarden event poster which I can't find a pic of online. It is a neon pink Eve in the Garden holding the Forbidden Fruit with the snake's body writing out Soundgarden at the top. Very hetti.
DEP was a nice opener, but def weird seeing them in a large venue like that. Soundgarden killed it and the massive black clouds rolling in during Black Hole Sun was pretty memorable, although we were all kind of surprised when the sky didn't open up right then and chose to wait until setbreak. Beyond the Wheel was the obvious highlite of the show. Face was stolen hard.
NIN had the crowd going hard. I was in the front of the lawn center right and everyone was super into it. I love Lakewood, especially compared to Alpharetta. The rain during NIN was icing on the cake. Seemed like something that should have been a bucket list item before I went to the show.
My only regret is not finding the guy in the parking lot with the bootleg tshirts.

The Great Destroyer might have been the best song I saw at the Lights in the Sky show.
For those who haven't heard the Chris Cornell WTF Pod, check it out, Maron did a great interview, Cornell is a really cool guy who seems to have his perspective right.
I saw the Tampa show. We missed DEP. Apparently that's what everyone does. Soundgarden was good but somehow just didn't bring the excitement. NIN was amazing.
