Just stared at my ticket sitting in the online cart for like 10 minutes while going back and forth in my mind before realizing all the dumb shit I've spent $180 on. Time to knock The Motherfucking Cure (and Saosin with Anthony Green) off the list.
I may do this instead of Loufest. But that $100 price difference is hard to rationalize....
I need opinions on this one.
That $100 will get you way more, imo. Plus, it's Chicago. Who doesn't like Chicago in the fall?
That's the way I'm leaning. And really, the price difference between the hotel makes up them even in price. I'd have to get a hotel in St. Louis as opposed to staying with my cousin in Chicago.
I need to go to this. Can we all rent a house somewhere close and stuff 20 of us in there so it will be super cheap? I'm afraid of Chicago hotel prices during a festival...especially when i'll be solo.

Wow, I'm old. I only heard about celebs renting their places on this site...had no idea you could rent a couch! Me First & the Gimme Gimmes, here I come!!
People like emo again because there's good emo music being made again. The World Is A Beautiful Place... Is great, American Football is back together, Death Cab is still relevant. And a lot of up and coming emo bands are putting out good music
Oh, why did I look at this? And why did I look up flights to Chicago?
Let's do it!
I wish, but I don't think it will be financially possible. We'll be in Gulf Shores the week before, so taking another trip so close to that one will be too much of a financial strain. But I think it would be a good lineup for both Jake and I... mostly because Slayer will be there, and he will follow Slayer wherever.

please tell me more about how Death Cab is emo.
im referring more to people suddenly caring about reunions of emo bands and how new emo music is suddenly cool to like.
my point being most of this music has existed for a while. its suddenly in vogue. which is weird after emo being a punchline for so long.

Wish I could make Chicago. Murder City Devils would be intense.
Edit: My top twelve would look something like:
1) the Cure 2) Jane's Addiction 3) Slayer 4) Wu-Tang 5) Pussy Riot 6) Mighty Might Bosstones 7) Murder City Devils 8) Me First and the Gimme Gimmes 9) Buzzcocks 10) andrew W.K. 11) Marky Ramone w/ the Bouncing Souls 12) The Pizza Underground
This line-up is weird as hell. But I could easily put another 12 names down. You guys are going to have an amazing time.

Yeah I'm not sure why the emo revival started, but I don't mind it. I really enjoy the genre. Maybe it's the reunion of American football and the recent acclaim their debut has been reviving from Pitchfork and other music outlets
God they killed this lineup. For that price in my own backyard here in Chicago this was a no brainer. The schedule is going to be interesting though with those big acts at the top.
