I saw them open for Artic Monkeys during this years tour. I watched the Letterman video before the show I wasnt all too excited to see them. But their performance won me over. They were pretty good. And very young. They looked like they just got out of high school

I have a conflict that sucks!!!! I wanna see these guys but Skinny Lister plays @ Cafe Where and ends at 6:30. I guess I will only see part of their set.

Ok, I'm seeing a lot of good things about these guys. So I'm really hoping that my experience was uniquely terrible. Saw them a few weeks ago at a radio show (I know radio shows aren't usually the best performances) they were awful. The lead singer was messed up on... Something, I don't know what, but he was stumbling around the stage, clothes falling off, and screaming into the mic, only to laugh at the crowds disturbed reaction. The screaming was not a small part of the set. I'm not usually one to judge music, I think that personal expression is beautiful even if not everyone appreciates it specifically, but if that's what this band considers to be expression, I don't really think I want to hear what they have to say.

sucks they conflict with The Master Musicians of Jajouka led by Bachir Attar, w/special guests Billy Martin, Marc Ribot, DJ Logic & Shahzad Ismaily...hopefully I'll catch a few songs...

I should have some good videos - was there with my camera and taped most of it. The only problem is I probably have more footage of the mayhem than the actual band because I wasn't that close.
Saw a girl go up to the singer before the set and talk for a good 20-30 min...saw him later taking her back to the busses. Guess he enjoyed his first Bonnaroo!!

Mayhem at this set. By the way the Miller Lite Lounge is a horrible stage. They can't be booking bands like this at a stage like that. If it is truly a "lounge" they should be booking acoustic singer/songwriter types only. Book the Orwells, and you get what happened on Friday.

That's true. That's a crazy place to put the heavy metal groups. I saw several acts there and it was nuts most of the time.

When the singer asked people to rush the barricades I was standing on the side by the audio board. I helped a couple people over the barricade so they wouldn't get crushed. Then the barricades collapsed from the weight of the crowd. A girl was sitting on the ground got my attention and pointed to her leg, it was caught under the barricade and didn't look good. Folks were jumping on the barricade her leg was trapped under. I lifted it enough to get her leg out and helped her out of the tent. We sat with her, got her some ice and tracked down a medic.
Bonnaroo should have known that stage was too small for the Orwells by the amount of people who rsvp's for this show on the website and app. That was very poor planning on their part.

Totally agree on not putting them on that stage. Hell they had been on Letterman twice. POOR PLANNING
At the same token asking fans to RUSH THE BARRICADES is kinda stupid. Taking a swipe at Jake Bugg was as well. Act professional! I realize you have an "image" to uphold, but what if someone had been trampled?
I was at Monster Truck and I got pummeled on the rail but the band even asked people to not push so much. If someone would have gotten SEVERELY hurt at The Orwells show do you think they would care? It had the chance to be really really bad. The band was pissed because their stage was so small, I get that. I saw part of the set and saw it was chaos. No need to tell people to make matters worse. I still like their music but after talking to the sound guys, those guys acted like they could care less if fans got hurt or equipment was ruined.

You're still not telling this story accurately. Mario never said, "RUSH THE BARRICADES", he told the audience to get closer, there's a big difference. He also pleaded with audience members to climb down off the tent after their sound was cut the first time. Finally, I didn't take him saying that they should have played on Jake Bugg's stage (Bugg had finished his set nearby a few minutes before the Orwells started) as taking a swipe.
it took all of 2 seconds between me sayign to my friend "when are they goign to start using those things as trampolines" and that mess of a guy using them as trampolines. that dude with the flag had all my Canadian friends changing "USA, USA" was wonderful
