I'm getting ready for bonnaroo this year by making some CDs with music by the bands going to the farm this year. I have a six cd changer in my car, so give me your top 6 albums from bands attending bonnaroo this year. I'll throw in edits for albums I end up making.
CDs so far Neutral Milk Hotel-Aeroplane Over the Sea(needs a good relisten) Ty Segall Band- Slaughterhouse
If you're also traveling with an iPod, I highly recommend going to iTunes and downloading Shovels and Rope's Newport Folk Festival set from All Songs Considered.
I operate under the assumption that you've never listened to any full albums by any bands on the lineup. These are my favorites:
Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea Kanye - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Chance the Rapper - Acid Rap Jack White - Blunderbuss Arctic Monkeys - AM The Avett Brothers - I and Love and You

I don't use Ipods. I like my CD changer. it allows me to put 6 CDs in and really get to know the artists. Anymore than that and I just skip from artist to artist too often. Garageland, thanks for Ty Segall, sounds like music I'll really get into. Don't like Kanye or Vampire Hotel(don't tell the other guys on here that). Not a fan of Deafheaven, I like metal, but I'm more of a Emmure/Whitechapel kind of guy.

Acid Rap and Blunderbuss are already in my car right now. Getting Arctic Monkeys right now. Avett Brothers Just left my car. And I'm a little burnt on Kanye.

Fair enough. I tried
Glad you're digging Ty. I feel like people will be talking about that set for a long long time.

Hadn't listened to her until I saw her on the live stream of Coachella, and now this has turned into one of the shows I'm looking forward to the most...

I'd still give that Kanye album a listen...unless you're just completely out on hip hop/rap.

He may know his music but those aren't exactly deep cuts. Pretty much the most popular or acclaimed release for each artist.
How clever do his suggestions need to be? The dude asked for suggestions, not the most obscure bootlegs of Roo artists.
Besides, if he hasn't gone digital in his car by now, maybe it's best to keep it simple.
Suggestions don't need to be clever. It was more that you dont need to references someones depth of knowledge when the records recommended are pretty well known.

I took it like he was just saying Garageland knows his music as a way to show his credibility when recommending music. Not that "This is a list of deep cuts that exemplify his depth of knowledge".

Precisely. I was just saying he knows his stuff and his picks make sense.
