A) The song is made to make fun of people like that... so if you think the song is stupid, mission accomplished as far as The Chainsmokers see it.
B) The Chainsmokers don't actually like Selfie... at all. I know this for a fact. Dim Mak saw potential in them and used this song to get them big. None of their songs before or after Selfie are even close to it, they've stuck to their uplifting progressive house style even after Selfie. So to hate on a group because of one song is just silly, and like i've said... straight up ignorant.
Fucking jam band nerds.
Those other songs you posted weren't that good though
what was security like at this thing last year? how was the camping set up (having to walk there)?
Security wasn't bad. Confusing though, day one backpacks were ok, days 2-3 nothing except small camelbacks allowed...very few issues (not surprising since it's 21+) Walking to Dreamville sucked...it was a long was from the Atlantic lot. Pack light and mobile. Saw lots of wagons and rolling coolers.

Yea heard the wagon suggestion and seems like a great idea. Idk how much we're allowed to see on here...did they check the fluid contents of backpacks at all? Some festivals are entirely oblivious to that, others are all over it. Feel free to tell me if I'm divulging to much on here.

^^^^^^^^^I'm fine with less crowded. I know there were plenty of concerns about sales last year, but must've done well enough. And no kids around is another draw. I know plenty of people have plenty of comments on the lineup and I'm more going for the experience than anything.
How were traffic lines getting into the festival last year on Thursday? Is morning or afternoon better?
Traffic wasn't bad at all. We arrived about 730-8pm I think and drive right into the site. The real issue is lugging your shit to the camping areas. Plan for 1-1.5 hours depending on where you get parked, and how well you packed. They open the gates around noon I think. And they filled the closest camping spots first, so you'd have the shortest walk from the car, but the longest walk to the venue.
Edit: it should be noted that there are two parking areas, we were in the Atlantic lot. The pacific lot had much better experience I believe.
Since Ferry Corsten is already going to be there, I was hoping for a New World Punx cameo anyways. Markus Schulz had a good relationship with the tomorrowland peeps so it's not out of the question. That would be a real high energy main stage set!

I would be very happy with this choice as well. Really hoping they do actually bring in somebody else on such short notice, as they did with Mau5 at Ultra. Might be kinda cool if they just gave Tiesto 3 hrs, but I would rather have Above and Beyond or Mau5 fill the spot. There are plenty of options out there.......will be interesting to see what happens in the next 2 weeks.

My experience was traffic was okay though it was confusing where exactly to go but they had guys with maps. BRING A CART! You will be carrying your stuff a LONG ways. BRING your own food, the vendors prices are outrageous, it's terrible food, and they close early or run out. The security is horrid getting in. They search every single thing you bring in. No propane, no glass, just like before. You can bring charcoal and use their grills for food if you want. Have fun...or something!

They no longer allow charcol girlls (maybe you can bring your own charcol), but you can bring propane grills that must be used in the BBQ zone, whatever that is.
NO Charcoal grill, small propane allowed, must be used at BBQ Zone
I've also heard mixed responses about the search intensity, but sounds like they're generally relaxed on the literal amount of alcohol you bring in although the website does say "ALCOHOL RESTRICTIONS – 1 Case of beer, 1 box of wine or one liter of liquor per person". I don't know how one could survive with such low supply, and not having to spend $10 a beer.

I suppose they may have changed that from last year but last year they were confiscating the small propane tanks. And I was saying yes on bringing in charcoal but not the grill but I'm sure they would take the lighter fluid if you brought that. They also had drug dogs at the search area into dreamville but I was later told by a friend who worked security that they were just regular dogs with the jackets on. Who knows but they were telling everyone to throw away their drugs.
A couple more things I was going to mention. Once you hike your stuff to dreamville they will hold you behind a rope and then let you go all at once and it's a mad dash for land grab. Bring tarps and have you and a friend run ahead and lay them out then run back and get your things.
There was plenty of places to fill up water and wash up. If you want to pack light bring a water container and leave behind the bottles of water as long as you have a camelbak. If you want to hear music after the last act plays bring your own way to play it and power it. There aren't very many parties going on out in the camping area because it's too far for people to bring their own dj equipment and instruments.
Be prepared to take lots of pictures and save your phone battery for it. Tomorrowworld's production took my breath away the entire time I was there.
ALSO your first time hiking into dreamville bring your ID! I left mine back at the car and a friend had to run back and grab it then run all the way back before we got through security. I'm guessing it's about a mile from where we parked to getting into dreamville and we were closer to the front.

Thank you for all your advice! Very much appreciated, will be on the road in 2 weeks.
I had heard at one point they were "just" bomb sniffing dogs, but you can only toss the internet as far as you can throw it, which depending on the size of your computer and strength is about 5-10 feet
You attending this year? I have a camera and my phone ready to go, turning the phone to airplane mode and all that and off while i sleep.

nice, honestly thinking that is my plan is well, really looking forward to the experience and set up of this place
well we have an official replacement for avicii....nobody....they just bumped the schedule up, oh well
They did add Kygo earlier on the main stage. They were apparently trying to get Calvin Harris to replace Avicii but I'm assuming negotiations fell through, Harris' booking fee is likely too high for this money pit of a festival.
