In the little video they have about wristbands it says to put in on your right wrist. I did that last year and the dangly part was constantly getting in the way so I was thinking about switching to my left wrist this year. Was anyone given a hard time for wearing it on the "wrong" wrist??

I put mine on my left for that very reason last year, but I don't remember them specifically saying right wrist last year.... No one gave me a hard time about it.
I heard they promptly chop your left hand off, pull your wristband off, then shatter your right hand by stomping on it, so they can slip the wristband on the proper wrist without opening the clasp.
My friend put it on the left wrist and they did say something to her bit they didn't make her switch or anything. Although she was the only one who's wristband bd didn't work the first time through centeroo and when they put her new one on they put it on her right anyway...

You can slip the excess wristband through the RFID chip's slits that hold it on the wristband.

My sister and I put our wristbands on at the start of our road trip last year, and the extra length was driving us crazy. We took so much time hand stitching each other's up, only to get to roo and see everyone use that much simpler idea. Sigh. So yes, do that.
If the excess length is bothersome, you can always fold it up before clasping it together. That's what I did last year and it didn't mess the clasp up. I am still wearing it as we speak, so it is sturdy enough to hold even with the excess material in it.
Edit: It just takes a little extra force to get it closed.

I was about to say this, and then I figured I better keep reading because I'm sure someone said it haha
Just get a friend to help you because it's kinda tricky one-handed!

Sometimes mine kept coming undone, so at least you didn't have that problem!

This is actually a really good idea. Like somebody else said, mine kept coming undone and it was extremely annoying. I might steal this idea this year.
