I've said this before and I'll say it again: I like Pod 1. With the abundant taxi service and extra What Stage entrance after Friday.... it's hardly the outcast refugee camp people make it out to be.
Nobody was bashing it in this thread, so your hipster opinion as unnecessary but appreciated. I'm merely taking about the quarantine in order to get out to go to Camp Inforoo. I camped in Pod 1 several years and it was fine.
yes let's go ad hominem against the perfectly reasonable post from a perfectly reasonable person

i only landed in pod 1 once, luckily with a bunch of other inforooers. i do recall everyone being slightly upset about the lock down, but also remember a car catching fire and at some point in the night a few hundred people having a belligerent sing along and thinking... wow, it would definitely be more dangerous to let us out i can not be the only one to have had such an experience.

When does this quarantine begin?..I ask because I will be on site in Pod 1 already for volunteering..my volunteer work schedule is done Wednesday at 3 pm, so I would like to head to tent only right after 3 pm!
Getting into Pod 1 won't be the problem, getting out is. The shut it down so they can somewhat control the flow of people. And safety, lots are somewhat inebriated upon arrival, the majority if not all are shortly after. Safety.

I guess volunteers were told midnight, but... routine has been to open POD 1 back up in the morning. There's probably some sort of point with traffic or something when they feel it's ok to do that. I think security staff or something man that area to make sure people don't come in/out. Even volunteers have been told only those going to/from a shift and taxi'd to where they need to be are allowed in/out. Makes me glad when I volunteer I do tollbooth or parking which camps in the opposite corner by POD 6 and can explore better from there.
If you're wanting to set up camp in Tent Only, I'd just have someone equipped well and with the basics to set up Wednesday and drop them off at the tollbooth to go in by foot. Can't stop those folks but if you get car camped in POD 1, you won't be allowed to walk to Tent Only from there until they open up that whole area Thursday morning whenever it ends up. You could probably even pull over immediately after the tollbooth and everyone's scanned, get 1 or 2 people out with essentials to save enough space and food, and then have the rest of the group walk over Thursday morning. I've read people did just that. They either had someone part of their group do that or just helped drive someone who was walking from Greyhound or something and dropped them before the toll to walk to Tent Only.

I really want to camp in tent only this year but I am also driving, I have 3 people I'm driving with, and no one in the group really wants to do anything solo…
So someone please tell me if this plan is do-able: So i was thinking I park the car somewhere (Wal-mart perhaps?? open to suggestions for this) We all walk in with our camping gear… set up our area in tent only… then walk back out, get the car and drive in a little later at a time when we know we won't be placed in pod 1, then walk from our car spot to tent only where our stuff is already set up?

I suppose that works. I think you wont get let out on Wednesday, but probably Thursday since Day Parking will be open and people will come and go. Make sure your wristband gets scanned out when you leave. You could leave your car in car camping (and tell your neighbors your space is up for grabs) or just leave your car in Day Parking the rest of the weekend. The other thing is figuring out how to haul the stuff all the way to the grounds...
