not planning on being in the "pit" for anyone really, but I'm planning on being on the rail/upfront for break science, NMH, Die Antwoord, J Roddy's sonic stage set, First Aid Kit, A$AP Ferg, Black Lillies, and the Bluegrass Super Jam. yeah i know… i've got some high hopes this year.
How early should I get in the pit line for Cage the Elephant? I was thinking about getting in at 3pm because it seems like it will be a very popular show.

Anyone want to stay at the What Stage all day Saturday to get as close as possible for Jack White? I don't plan on staying in the pit line, I'm just gonna stay in the crowd and watch every act leading up to Jack White and hopefully be front row behind the pit.
So you experienced the quackboys pushing their way under the tent at the end of their set, before A$AP Rocky?
I experienced some asap fans in there not expecting what happened to have happened.. They probably just thought theyd stand around a normal set waiting for their guy to go on and bam!

Yeah I was under the tent (near the edge) when they started pushing. I've never been in a crowd that moved like that before. One second I was just listening to the music, moving, then a whole wave of stumbling swept through the crowd. There were some shorter people that looked pretty freaked out. This happened multiple times and eventually I was pushed to the rail (had to piss before he started so I just hopped the rail).
So that was a pretty shitty story, but yeah.. quack those quackboys..
St. Paul and the broken bones and Vampire Weekend are my big acts to see from the pit.
I was fortunate enough to see St Paul really close when they came to Columbus in April. Hopefully I get just as close tomorrow (tonight?) at Nelsonville. They were so good, def going to be fun to be in the pit for it. And that early in the day I can't imagine it'd be too difficult.
Will probably be one of the emptiest tents the whole festival.
This is what I'm thinking too. I might end up there just because I'm spending all of the daytime in the heat of What and Which, but I'd be a little disappointed to miss Vampire Weekend.
I don't usually do the pit, last year I did for the first time with Jack Johnson, but now I'm thinking I have to for Elton John. If I leave Broken Bells and head to the pit line when the Avetts are playing, will I still be alright getting in? (I will probually try for the left side since it's usually less crowded)

Pit for umphreys, yonder, phoenix, and my first late night pit, hopefully, will be flaming lips. Also going to try to get a rail spot for st Paul, and plan on staying at the what stage all day Sunday and getting a back of the pit rail spot.
Ben Howard (rail for sure), Yonder, Seasick Steve, Greensky Bluegrass or St. Paul and will be WAY up in Skrillex Superjam skipping Jack White so wherever that lands me there. Doubt it will be rail but will be damn close.

Obviously Jack White. Which will cause a bit of a conflict since my best friend wants to see Lionel Ritchie before Jack takes the stage. She can see Lionel and I'll just guard our Jack pit spot. I am determined to be rail for Jack because after being rail for Macca last year I can't imagine anything else better.
And perhaps Elton John but he isn't as high a priority as Jack.

Well since, according to Phi I'll be the only one showing up, Ice Cube. But I'll be shooting for Kanye,Jack White, and perhaps a few others depending on how the Roo gods favor me. Depends on how tent pit access opens up. There are a lotta tent acts I'd like to be up front for. More so than headliners/which stage acts.
