About how early before the show starts will they let the pit in? I'm assuming I'd have time to try and find my group before a show starts if I didn't get in the pit

Ya. I'd guess 30 mins. Maybe even more. You will definitely have time to readjust.

1.) Do you think you'll be able to get into the VW pit right after Janelle Monae? 2.) What time you squatting a spot for Damon?
Planning on leaving about 15 mins before the end of Jannelle's set, I think that should be enough to get in. For Damon I plan on getting there about 10-15 minutes before his set, really doubt there will be any problem getting into that one.

Last year, The National played before the headliner on Sunday and I was able to walk right into the pit as the set began. This year, The Avett Brothers are in the same time slot. Think I'll have the same luck, or should I plan on getting in line earlier?
Pit for umphreys, yonder, phoenix, and my first late night pit, hopefully, will be flaming lips. Also going to try to get a rail spot for st Paul, and plan on staying at the what stage all day Sunday and getting a back of the pit rail spot.
Question about the pit line (For Kanye), can you hold a spot for someone? 2 friends are going to get in line after Danny Brown (around 5) although I wanted to stay for Naked & Famous (ends at 6:45). I don't wanna seem like an asshole getting in front of people 2 hours later if it's looked down upon/not allowed.

Thats early enough that if you just be honest and friendly with the people your waiting with it won't be a problem.

Good advice. Tell the people in front and behind you that are waiting along with you about the plan so it isn't a surprise when the friends show up.

I'd really love to be in the pit for Phoenix, however I've never done the pit at the Which Stage. What side of the stage do the lines start? Are the lines as long on the Which Stage as they are at the What? Thanks!

I'm doing that with my best friend when she arrives for Jack so it won't be a problem. Just inform your fellow Roo peeps.
