My group has an RV, and judging from last year's map, it looks like our best chance of landing a prime RV spot closest to Centeroo will be to enter through Buschy Branch.
If we are coming South down 24, what's the best way to access Bonnaroo from that entrance?
Do I need to get to Old Bushy Branch or New Bushy Branch? I can easilty navigate us to New Bushy Branch Road using Google Maps. I just need to know if there are any detours I should look out for. If it's just a matter of finding the road and following the signs, I think we can easily do that.
All right, here is the way we have come in the last three years from Knoxville. It looks out of the way, but, it has worked like a charm for us. For those that have been you know THE gas station right off the interstate right? If your facing the gas station I24 comes in from the Right and 55 comes in from the left. We have never had more than 5 or six cars ahead of us to make the turn onto Bushy Branch. All the While the Interstate is lined up back to Boston. Here is a map.
Knoxville is way out of our way coming down from Illinois. My only question I have left would be, after I get on 55, will I have the choice to go all the way around to the back Bushy Branch Road exit, or will I be forced into the front?
It looks to me, that I want to ext off of 55 on to Ragsdale Road, then follow that all the way up to Shed Road. Then we'd take Shed straigh down to Bushy Branch.
I just don't want to get siphoned off of Ragsdale straight down into the main Bonnaroo entrance.
I know this won't work for everybody.....just sharing my experience. I am not familiar with te "back" Bushy Brnach Road entrance. Turning left off of 55 by the gas station is the main entrance I am assuming. It only took 45 minutes to get to our campsite last year.
Yeah, just going left off I-24 at the gas station will get you to Bush Branch, but that is not the back entrance. You have to really plan a separate route out and around Bonnaroo in order to approach the site from the opposite side.
Does anyone have any experience coming in the back entrance? I'm seriously considering it this year - I'm in an RV and it looks like the best chance for a good spot.
From what i have gathered and from what I have seen, it doesn't make much difference whether you have an RV (I have the last two years) or not.......come in the back way or front entrance.....you simply are at the mercy of circumstance as to where you end up...if you find a tried and true way to get specific spot, more power to ya!!
I'm just going by what the main Bonnaroo page states. There is one RV area assigned for each tollboth. If you look at the map from last year, the RV areas off the back entrance is clearly the most desirable.
