I've sifted through and haven't seen this question, but I apologize for starting a thread that seems to be on a fairly trivial topic. I have one of those Coleman drip coffeemakers that you put on your two-burner stove. It works like a dream and makes a brew that tastes like home, BUT it has a glass carafe. Is that something that I will get hassled about? Should I even try to smuggle it in? In a pinch, I'll buy a stainless steel perc pot, but I'd prefer to spend my Bonnaroo $$$ on other avenues.
When they say no glass I think they are mostly concerned with beer bottles. Because it's something that people will walk around with, get drunk with, and then carelessly discard. Then some other inebriated roovian will be wandering around with bare feet and then there's unwanted pain. And blood, and stitches.
But something like that? I can't see there being a problem.
its too hot for coffee anyways. get your energy from something powdery.
I could be standing on the sun and it would not be too hot for coffee.
A lot of people don't realise it, but hot drinks actually cool you down, and vice-versa. Aussies take their coffee very seriously - but despite the hot climate, you won't come across iced coffee here. There's a good reason for this.

I am bringing a plunger for a similar reason, though I'll be using mine for mostly cold pressed coffee - stronger, more flavorful, and with less hassle - grind beans, add water, seal and sit for 24 hours, press and serve over ice with maybe a pinch of sea salt.
Interesting. I get the idea behind it, but still not sure it's for me. I sweat like a pig normally, not sure I want to increase it! If I ever get a job where I have to wear a full suit, I'm fucked. I think I might literally roast alive.
I'll try it this summer though, always open to something that will work!
So if you are in an RV and there are wine bottles in the cabinets, are they gonna hassle you? And are they more fogiving of such things for old people who really need good wine to optimally enjoy thenselves?? I have read that its a pretty strongly enforced rule, but having never been to the Roo I dont know if it really is enforced say on an RV full of straight looking old wine drinkers with a full kitchen on board. I mean, will they confiscate the plates and mugs from the kitchen. I did Burningman this year and there are quite a few strict rules that on the message board people are all uptight about, but in reality no one on site cared (like no feathers and gas cans needing OSHA containment cases).

I've seen a couple pics of PILES of confiscated liquor, beer and wine bottles. No glass means "no glass," I think. I'm not sure if they'd give you special treatment because you have an RV, are old (your words, no offense), and like wine. Most other people don't smash their bottles everywhere either, but a blanket policy is easier than trying to determine who will be careful and who won't. So I'd agree with everyone else who says either hide the glass well or don't surprised if they take it.
Sorry if I'm not a wine expert, but Naked Grape, Bota Box, Pepperwood Big Green Box and Big House don't seem bad to me, and come in Bonnaroo-legal bag-in-a-box packaging. You don't have to resort to Franzia. Gotta compromise one way or another sometimes.
