I may be headed up from Birmingham and if I do my one year old baby girl will be coming with me. Has anyone here brought their child and how was that? Any tips....? Thanks. ~jerry
I have not but I wouldn't encourage it. The environment is kind of brutal for a baby. Extremely long days. Heat. Possible rain. Very loud. Large crowds with potential jostling. People smoking. People in altered states.
I love Bonnaroo but won't be taking my baby for many, many years.
Honestly, Roo is not a place for a one year old. I know people have done it before, and will continue, but its just not conducive to a baby's well being.
You will get differing opinions on this from both sides of the fence. Good luck if you do bring the little one though.

I wouldn't bring a baby I know of Rooers that have brought their Teenagers and pre-teens but they are old enough to understand what is happening around them. The people that attend roo in general are good people, but you do have those few that are not and 4 days in the heat, on a farm is not a good place for an infant to be...it's loud, it's dirty, you have people drinking and doing other things where they are not in their right mind.

Thanks for the kind words. my Friends. I think I already knew what you would say having been on The Farm several times. Chances are great that I will not be bringing baby and consequently not going to be able to be there my own self. So...I'll stay at home and be Mr. Mom until mom is well, and back... .
Ya'll look for me in your head because I'll be there in mine.
I camped next to a couple in 2011 who brought their baby. They were miserable. They packed up Sunday morning and left. Surprised they stayed that long.
A one year old is too much to try to handle by yourself. And if the weather is anything like it is now outside, we are in for one hell of a hot muggy ride.
Sorry you will have to miss, but it's probably for the best. Give her a few years, and you can both enjoy it together.
It's unfair to subject a baby to possible permanent hearing loss so that you can see a couple of bands. They can't wear earplugs properly and the circumaural muffs wouldn't give them a good enough seal to reduce the noise level to a safe amount. At best you can hope for a 22 dbA reduction with them.

I feel for you. I do. But in my opinion you're making the responsible call.

I hope mom is going to be OK and that you can get to the farm next year. The cool thing is everyday is Bonnaroo for a one year old. They see magic in everything. Hopefully there will be some good streams on at night so you can still get your roo fix, even by proxy.
I thought about it many years ago, but then she smiled at me. And when my baby smiles at me, I go to Rio De Janeiro. I go wild and then I have to do the Samba and La Bamba.
