There also seems to be just more Euro fests occurring every Summer. We only have a handful of established fests happening over here during that time. Makes sense to go where the most opportunity is.
Gorillaz toured the US a ton last year and played festivals, makes sense they'd cash in on euro fests this summer. Depeche Mode just isn't as big of a deal for US festivals.

hold up....is it just me or is this the only fairly big festival where all three headliners are either women or fronted by women? not to mention that two of them are queer women?

NOS Primavera Sound Porto has a countdown in around 7 hours, which is more than likely the lineup. This is the week after Primavera Sound, so curious how much overlap there is. Thom Yorke was rumored for this. Porto is supposed to be a beautiful city.
That Melt Friday is ridiculous - Jon Hopkins, Modeselektor, Ben Klock, Siriusmo, Project Pablo, Superorganism, Rone, Mount Kimbie, George Fitzgerald, DJ Seinfeld, Cigarettes After Sex, Yellow Days, The Internet, Adana Twins,Kalu Uchis, etc. Worried about the conflicts here because I'm almost down to see everyone. Think I'm going to skip the rest of the weekend though just to use my time elsewhere, but I'm pretty damn satisfied.
