Im freaking out a little bit, could someone give me the run down on this fest? It’s in Mexico City? What’s the shuttle/transpo situation?
Think that'll be me! I went back in 2016 so my experience is not only a little dated but also, slightly different than casual festival goer.
First, yes, the festival is in Mexico City but at a raceway that isn't too far from downtown. And yes, this festival sells out fast. They allow presale to people with a Citibanamex card which is a Mexico issued credit card. Then they release the rest of the tickets after which you can purchase with any card. Presale usually accounts for most of the tickets sadly but you can find a second market ticket pretty easily or try out on the general sale. It could be different now but I recall VIP topping off at around $700 which is crazy cheap when you compare it to American festivals.
When I went, it was obviously sold out, so I got a 1 day ticket then my buddy hooked it up with a backstage pass for the 2nd day (this was when the fest was only 2 days). There are shuttles I recall but I drove with a friend so again, different experience. We stayed by the Frida Kahlo museum and that was about 20-25 mins? The festival is on a raceway so it's huge. The fest goes on till late, I believe 1ish? Now that I think about it, I don't remember any major conflicts with the main headliners. The year I went, first day headliners were Air, Pet Shop Boys (funny enough) and Killers and neither of them conflicted with each other. Then the 2nd day, LCD played without conflict from Lana (was right before) and Kraftwerk so it was all staggered. They played on 3 different stages. Warpaint went on on another stage and finished exactly before Suede started so they know how to program. It could be completely different now but I doubt it.
The bargain of this fest is the prices. Shirts are no more than $20-25, large beers were around $8-10 and food was reasonably priced too. They have vendors packed with beers or food that walk through the crowd to serve you if you don't want to lose your spot. And they had everything. Want pizza? They got you. Want 3 beers? Got you. Want some freaking ramen? You best believe they got you too. It can get a little distracting when you're trying to see an artist but you quickly get over it just based on the pure convenience of never having to leave your spot. Good to carry pesos instead of bringing a card.
Weather wise, it's gorgeous during the day with it getting a little hot but at night, it gets freezing. It drops really bad because it's Mexico so pack accordingly. I remember shivering leaving LCD. Corona Capital has been one of my favorite festival experiences so hope this helps!
Argh, Blur and Pulp! Not to mention other bands. Could be in for this but it's too close (but not close enough) to my U2 Vegas trips. Looks like they are working their way south so hopefully they do the US before that (pipe dream that Blur and Pulp are actually going to tour together here? Stranger things have happened ).

Also, is resale around face value typically a thing for this fest? Can’t commit to something this expensive and daunting to do solo now, but could potentially see my financial circumstances improving enough to consider it in the Fall.
I know any great lineup will have great conflicts, but man, that Friday undercard is so loaded compared to the other two. Have to imagine you’re only gonna get to see 3 out of Pulp, Alanis, Phoenix, Fleet Foxes, Hot Chip, and the Walkmen.
Another note, if last year is any indication, there will be a couple significant drops/additions: Two Door Cinema Club and Brian Wilson were dropped, while Charli XCX, Paulo Nutini, Marc Rebillet, the Linda Lindas, Madison McFerrin, and Model Man were added.
Every now and then a lineup comes along that's just made for you.. and this is the one. God damn.
that was exactly how i felt about prima 2022. i like that corona lineup but theres not quite enough to make me travel for it sadly. if they combined this year and last year then id be there for sure
Friends in Mexico feel confident on finding passes closer to the date. It’s always like this according to them. They rather not deal with these high (for Mexico) prices. Lots of free passes are given away since the ultra rich get the first dibs on the early pre sale then end up unloading them. As soon as I hear of passes available, I’ll give a shout out in this thread.

Secured single day Corona Capital tickets for Sunday! Looking forward to it. CDMX is such a blast in itself, so looking forward to wining and dining on the days after the festival date. Always open to CDMX food and drink recs if anyone's got any
