We're driving down from Indy in an RV. The past two years coming east on I-24, the cops have made us go WAAAAY east of the farm, at least 3 exits, before allowing us to cross over and approach the farm from the east.
Any suggestions for avoiding the extra half hour of driving? Will they let us get off at exit 114 even though it's "closed?" Maybe take I-40 east and avoid Nashville? go through McMinnville?

This shiz happened to us last year.. this was my first time encountering this issue. Only think I can think is that last year my group and I left earlier Wednesday than we normally do.. So this year we're leaving around 10pm Wednesday evening like I have all the years before. If you find an answer to this, let me know please! Would be most grateful!
I've encountered this both times I've gone...was under the assumption it was always how it works. They make you go past because the line forms to the southwest.
