Is there really not a thread dedicated to Ice cube coming to the motherfucking Farm? I mean I used the search....nothing.
I get it....you folks are high on Disclosure(and i love EDM btw, just aint feeling their vibe for some reason)....but shit, not even one before the schedule dropped? Am I the only motherfucker excited to get my damn groove on to Ice Cube? Last time i saw him was when Lollapalooza was still a travelling day festival. But I'll tell you what....he was the first act that whole damn day who had the whole crowd up and jumping. I see this as being as much of a party as Luda was(DAMN good time btw), only it's late night so it'll be even crazier.
And while I KNOW its unlikely as all hell......hearing "Ghetto Bird" would blow my motherfucking mind. Just sayin.
So while I know it's not a popular inforoo pick maybe, fuck it, I hope that means it's not too damn crowded for me to get right up front. And I for one will be doing the damn thing. And this running into Die Antwoord? oh my.

I'm fine with that. If you did 90's hip-hop the man's a legend. And if he ain't hipster certified? Also good. I'll enjoy a show minus skinny jeans, muscle tees, flatbrims, and neon clothing and knockoff wayfarers. And have myself a damn good time.

Don't get me wrong I love Cube, and he will most certainly have a great setlist. But I just can't miss that Trucks Superjam, I've learned not to miss a SJ when you like the people that are participating in it.
Well hell, if i'm the lone person there maybe i get on stage and a setlist.
I'll be there for sure. It won't be until after Kanye's set is over, but I'll be there. He does have the most people adding him to their schedule during that time slot though so we'll see how close I can get.

A deep breath and fifteen seconds on google-kuns can do wonders, brah.
Keep an eye out for us hipsters. We'll be infiltrating your set to boo this hack off stage and get raging to Skrillex quicker.
so my google-fu is weak. my bad. but you best watch out when I'm "stompin, walking in my big black boots". And get out the way when I boogie my way through you to see Die Antwoord's far superior show to skrilly's. I'll catch his superjam sure......but I'll be Zef to death while you all congratulate each other on your cuffed jeans and ironic style.

When the schedule dropped, I was so worried about what the Sj was going to be because I really wanted to be at Ice Cube. Then they dropped Trucks on us and that was that.
It didn't matter what else was playing, a SJ with the best bottleneck slide guitar player in the world is not something I'm prepared to miss.
Why the hell is he on the Which stage? I'd bet that every other LN show going on at this time is going to be more crowded.
They should've given Cube that Wu Tang time slot from last year.. I don't recall what time they went on but it was late in the evening, the sun was setting towards the end of their set.. I agree tho, sadly there are other things going on so I will be one of the peeps in a crowded tent and NOT at the Which Stage..
I'll be there for sure, but I'm not missing a second of Kanye...I'm hoping my friends can secure a good spot for me...I'm 33 y/o, so this is a must see for me. I couldn't live with myself knowing a I missed a chance to see 'It Was A Good Day' live...He should get a blimp to fly over saying 'Ice Cube's a pimp'!!!

I feel like Ice Cube, these days, has the same relevancy level as someone like Ludacris. I know that Ice Cube was a hip hop legend at one time, but those days are long f*cking gone. Only reason Wu Tang got a Which stage slot at all was because it was Wu Tang and not Method Man/Redman or any other single member of Wu, then they would guaranteed be in a tent.
I saw him in 2012 at Rock the Bells. It was fun hearing him do Natural Born Killers, but really his set wasn't anything special.... Really makes no sense for him to be on Which.

I'll be there for sure. I'm probably missing lauryn hill, I don't think i'd be able to forgive myself down the line for missing both of them. I'll head to the sj right after.

I blocked my volunteer shifts to have Friday open just for this. Didn't hurt that Skril follows. I would love see Disclosure, but I'm sure there will be way more future opportunities to catch them over Ice Cube.

LH isn't what she used to be. I saw one of the first shows when she came back and it was pretty rough...

That sucks. With the schedule being changed again, my schedule has been complicated since I'm catching the last hour of Lionel. James Blake and Cut Copy only have thirty minutes after Lionel and the only other two with longish times after that are Zedd and Lauryn Hill.

Anyone else think this set has crazy potential for some surprise guests? Which Stage, right before Skrillex...I keep dreaming of Snoop making an appearance for Go To Church

I keep dreaming of George Clinton coming out and singing "Bop Gun" with him.

This is a great idea and one that I hope comes true.

Cube vs. Mastodon was/is my most payne-full conflict (i allow myself one pun a year). However, I was drunkenly railroaded into Riot Fest tix, so Mastodon may have to wait til September. But quack, midnight Mastodon on the farm....guess I'll just follow the wind on this one.

I still have Cube's Predator album on heavy rotation. I too was surprised he was not in a tent but that does not mean that his set will not still be awesome and I expect a good crowd (but not slammed unless they wanna get close for Skrillex)

If you look at the Bonnaroo custom schedule page that's actually where most people are planning on being during that Ice Cube vs Disclosure vs Superjam vs Mastodon time. I agree that it'd be better though to have him during Wu Tang's set from last year. Just switch him and Phoenix (8:45-9:45 though...no need for an extra 15 minutes plus time needed for people to make it to Kanye). That way you don't have that huge Vampire Weekend/Phoenix debacle plus Phoenix followed by Skrillex sounds freakin awesome and something a lot of people would see (I'd still be at Disclosure though). Also Ice Cube just isn't going to be as exciting following right after Kanye. But I still have a feeling people are underestimating him a little....(BONNAROOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! CAN WE KEEP IT GANGSTA TONIGHT!?)
Also Ice Cube just isn't going to be as exciting following right after Kanye.
I love Kanye's music, but I beg to differ. Stageshow/extravaganza-wise? Maybe. Gangsta don't need light shows. But unless Ice Cube is far more disappointing than I think he'll be, I don't see him being upstaged by Kanye. I think it'll will be a great run from new school into old school.
