There was also a little high school band selling stuff by the portos to the left of What. They would hook you up with a ziplock full of powder...in case you forgot! Don't forget!

People were selling bags of white powder by the portos at a music festival?

Lol! Yeah and I was hurtin so bad, I didn't even think to give it a taste!
I use BodyGlide; one application in the morning works for me all day pretty much. It's a deodorant stick-like thing that's very effective in preventing chafing.
Anyone tried the new gold bond spray? I saw the commercial with Shaquille in it, but not sure I want to try something new at roo unless I know first hand it's gonna work as good or better than the powder.

Is it tingly like GoldBond? I love the tingly.....

Nope, not tingly, though for the right price I would be happy to tickle you.

OK I should put this in the 1000 Bonnaroo experiences thread, but I think it is more fitting here. In 2011 i was giving myself a much needed application of our beloved gold bond. This guy walks up to me as the bottle of powder is in my hand. He says "give me a hit of that shiz" and pulls his waistband out with his hands and says "let it fly". I emptied about half the bottle, as he walked away you could see with every step a white cloud coming from his drawers. He knew the healing benefits!

I suggest getting the regular size bottle and the travel size. Use the regular size at camp in the morning as a preemptive strike against crotch rot and swamp ass. Bring the travel size with you: if you get especially sweaty or take a dip in the fountain, reapply. Your dangly bits will thank you.

I take the cheap route and just buy vaseline. Thats what I use when running long distances so my clothes don't rub me raw. I've never used bodyglide just bc I'm super cheap. I would assume walking=running distance as far as chafing goes... right?
Is gold bond to use after you've walked all day? Or is this for people who dont use bodyglide? Serious question.
It's a one or the other call.....both serve the same purpose. GoldBond has "healing powers" not sure about body glide. If you're having issues before you go to bed and put some GoldBond on at night you're usually pretty good by morning. So it's preemptive and postemptive if you will. Never used bodyglide.

Thanks! I went ahead and bought both. I figured you can't go wrong with both. I kept seeing gold bond on everyone's packing list so I thought I'd finally man up and ask why.

You can use both but not necessarily in the same areas. Body Glide is for places that chafe like between thighs. Gold Bond is for skin folds like to the left and right of your hoo hah, between the cheeks, and underboob for ladies.
That stuff is pure magic. Like Gold Bond pwoder, except not smelly, doesn't make you all tingly (weird tingly I mean), and it works great. Seriously folks, this is THE shit. Put it on "down under," and no more chafing.
I'll still bring a small bottle of powder for mah feets and as a backup, but probably won't use much of it.
