Check this post. If you have more questions let us know in the Comedy 2014 thread
Just use the same gameplan for the show you want to see (instead of Broad city like in my post):
Here's what I would do (assuming they have the same kind of system as the past few years. I've had great success with the comedy tent in the past....I go at least one or two shows a year):
The Broad City show starts at 2:30. There is one show before it that starts at 12:30.
Get into Centeroo early. Ask the workers for confirmation about when they are giving out the 2:30 show tickets. If they seem unsure or something ask another worker who looks more like a supervisor. Sometimes the volunteers who stand out there don't have a ton of information and are just doing what they're told so I always would check with someone who looked a little more official.
When the 12:30 show begins they will begin giving out laminated passes/tickets to the Broad City show. This pass/ticket guarantees you entry into the Broad City show as long as you show up on time (or just a few minutes late). With this pass you'd likely be able to walk to the comedy tent at 2:30 and walk right in (though you may not get a great seat....if you want a great, front row kind of seat then you should wait in line right after you get your Broad City pass when the 12:30 show begins).
There may be people lining up for Broad City when you go there at 11 or 12 so be sure to ask around if people are waiting for the same show you want. It can't hurt to check and see how long the line is early because Broad City is pretty popular at the moment and may have a long line.
To sum up: - Go in early and scope out the situation. - Ask workers/volunteers to confirm when the passes will be given out for your specific show. - Ask people waiting in lines what they're waiting for.
The lines sometimes seem really, really long but most of the people can get in. It's only when the line loops around a dozen times that it's not worth waiting.
