Hey everyone, I know this question has been asked before but the last time was in 2010 so I'm looking for some fresh opinions. I am unable to get off any days from work, but decided last minute to go to Roo this year. My question is I live in Birmingham and want to know if it would be worth it to drive up Friday after work (would get there around 7 prob) to look for tickets on the ground? Since I am only staying Friday and Saturday night I really don't want to pay more than $200. Please don't lecture me about how I shouldn't go if I don't want to pay more, would that I could if you catch my drift. Another option might be for me to give money to my friends that are going tonight if that would be better. Anyhow if anyone has any stories/advice or *cough* tickets *cough* than please share. If I make it or not y'all all have a good Roo!

We always enter Thursday, but I would imagine there will still be your typical poster holding scalpels around on Friday. Just be sure you have the Roo app on your phone to be sure the wristband is registered. Unless this year is different, it doesn't matter if it is registered to you or someone else.
I have driven up from Birmingham several times on Friday MORNING.....getting there about noon. Go to the Walmart exit and there will be several tents set up on the main road (at least they are around noon). I have paid anywhere from $225 - $185 doing this. My guess is the later you are there on Friday tne better the price assuming you they are still there. They are official licsensed ticket brokers with ID's and everything. Never had a problem. Good luck and if you would update me if you get a chance. I'm heading up Thursday morning this year. WOOHOO!!!
Oh...and don't be afraid to haggle with them. Tell them you've got $175 and go from there.
I'll be coming up from Bham sometime Friday as well, maybe early or maybe really late. Current info on the secondary ticket market will be very helpful. Keep this thread updated and I will post with what I find as well.
I just got off the phone with the boss. Will be able to leave work at noon on Friday. I feel better about my chances now. I will keep this thread updated when/if I get a ticket and how much.
I found an unregistered wristband at the walmart for $170. I searched for about 3 hours at WM and then Brushy Branch. Most wanted $225-250. Went back to Walmart again and found this one. I probably paid too much and a good $50 more than I wanted but I'm ready to rock out. Ticket brokers are feeling a little panicky tough. Lots of wrist bands out there. They are hoping the after work Nashville crowd will come through. I think prices are going to drop drastically soon.
Final verdict was ticket for $200. Could have gotten it cheaper but I was in a hurry to get in. Also wanted to buy from someone in a tent so I could go back if there was a problem.
